Suunto Charging Cables in Store

@Stefano-M64 Yes, I understand that they at least look the same, but I’m not sure if they all have the same wattage etc., is there any official information? I don’t want to stress my dive computer/sports watch unnecessarily, considering its price

that cable just brings the standard 5.0V 1.0A USB output to the watch

@Stefano-M64 okay, for everyone else, this is not true.
Believing your vague guess that you’ve put in a confident matter, I’ve bought two (!) charging cables for the suunto 9 peak cables now (according to you they’d have to be compatible anyway).
Neither of the two worked. So I don’t think it’s an item issue but simply the wrong product for the suunto ocean. Please do not put things out there as facts if you’re not certain. You’re literally costing other customers money.
They’re not all just the same and interchangeably useable.
Anyway, Suunto should put an official compatibly for a charger on their website. That’s the only way to go perfectly sure. No clue how you’re making arguments based on forum posts by other stranger customers.

@Flops
Not to be the devil’s advocate , but … you shouldn’t trust anyone if you have to pay for itAnyway, I would have said the same about compatibility.
Did you try to ask Suunto support ?
-
@Flops You bought the wrong cable, so how is it supposed to work? You need a cable from 9 Peak Pro, not 9 Peak.
-
The “2 dots” one should be compatible with both 9p and 9pp afair
-
@sartoric For Suunto Ocean you need a cable from 9 Peak Pro, Vertical and Ocean.
What is there to discuss? -
@maszop Look at the screenshot. It seems to be wrong on the UK webshop, 9 Peak and Race should not have the same Charger.
On my german webshop it doesn’t list 9 Peak or just 9 as compatible.
Regarding to another thread it is not only incompatible but also dangerous to use the old 9 Peak cable - the magnet is to strong and can damage the watch -
The one marked as “new”, the only one currently available on Suunto official store, should be compatible with both 9p and 9pp, afair.
It uses “weak” magnet, that’s the only difference
But as I said, ask support before buying to be sure it’s compatible with Ocean (the topic of this thread)
-
It is indicated to be compatible with Suunto Ocean, but not tested

I didn’t, in fact I wrote “To my knowledge …”
however, I agree with you about the fact that is absurd that Suunto doesn’t show updated information as new products are released
EDIT: in the other post, you likely downvoted, there is just a link to a discussion about the chargers: their specifications are important, since they supply the voltage and current sent to the watch through the charging cables. By the way, what kind of charger did you use? an USB PC port? a smartphone charger? maybe the problem is not the cable, but the power supply.
