Suunto Wing or Sonic? 😀
-
I need advice on whether to get a Suunto Wing or Sonic. What is the main difference and what is your experience? Thank you.
-
@martintrail you can find all specs on Suunto’s website including differences.
They share the same size and ergonomics.
Differences
- red lights on wings
- “powerbank” on wings
- IP67 on wings vs IP55
I use the Wings it’s great but red lights useless to me (to weak), I don’t use them. Powerbank his really great option to me.
A friend use the Sonic he his happy too. -
@Tieutieu Great, thank you very much!
-
@Tieutieu Powerbank is a great extra option.
Suunto cables are very poor quality (with proprietary connections) and are hard to trust. -
@Tieutieu Which one has better noise cancellation?
-
@the_ultraman neither. The advantage of open-ear headphones is that you hear the environment. They can be used with earplugs if environmental noise needs to be attenuated.
-
@halajos I mean, While riding your bike, your phone rings and you are talking on a headset. Which one is the best to block the wind noise from reaching the other side?
-
@the_ultraman a soon as speed is above 30km/h I would say, it becomes difficult for people on the line to clearly ear you speak, due to « wind ».
Under that speed it’s ok with wings. -
I had Suunto Wing and as soon as Suunto Aqua came, I sold my Wing and got the Aquas. I know you only asked between Sonic and wing, but I’d recommend Suunto Aqua
if you swim no brainer, even if you don’t swim my opinion is Aquas are the best of the three, offline music, water proof, + some other features like neck fatigue measurement, neck mobility measurement and jump test assessment.
