Watch of my dreams would be:

5 buttons (or maybe 4) Solar Suunto Vertical with 24mm strap band and web based app.

      “That” easy 😛

        My dream:
        Vertical/Race or new model with
        •amoled
        •Music
        •Apple Pay
        •very long battery life
        •improved map possibilities

Been with a Suunto on my wrist since Ambit2
Currently alternating between Race titanium & Vertical titanium solar.
Would love a Vertical with amoled display.

@peegee If you want apple pay on a watch, you need an apple watch ^^
But you can dream of a “Suunto Pay” system like Garmin does, much, much more probable

@Elipsus A little seriousness guys, Suunto for years can’t handle the basics like navigation messages, multi-sensor support, steps calculation, swimming distance, contour lines, a bit more advanced alarms, and dozens of other things, and you dream of some Suunto Pay 😂

@maszop A little perspective. What matters to you isn’t necessarily what matters to everyone else.

I will never understand people listing numerous reasons for using a Garmin, and then complaining that their Suunto doesn’t do the same thing. It seems some people should just buy a Garmin!

I am one of those people. In 14 years I owned 2 Garmin watches, then 3 Suunto watches, then 2 Garmin watches again, then a Suunto watch again. I do prefer Suunto for a number of reasons. I preferred Garmin for a number of different reasons. The second time I moved to Garmin is because of lack of maps in Suunto models. That’s what many people wanted and Suunto had to introduce that to stay competitive. The same applies to a few other things, for example the Garmin’s Climb Pro feature - Suunto has finally introduced as Climb Guidance, although it is still not as good. These are all good features that fit Suunto target audience really well. There are a few other features that I wish Suunto had because I think those features would really benefit it by making it more attractive to a number of users and therefore more competitive. I do think that Suunto needs to stay agile in order to stay competitive. It doesn’t need to blindly copy hundreds of Garmin’s features many of which are half baked or irrelevant. But it shouldn’t overlook a few good features that would fit Suunto ethos either.

@wakarimasen those people do the same on the Garmin side. I’m one of them…

I love the Race S appearance, form factor, maps experience and other things. I do love Garmin’s morning report, race calendar, multiple timers and other things.

After having the sleek Race S I feel that there is no equivalent model on Garmin’s side and I’m just stuck at the fence…

I am not one of those but I think it is like being married but wanting something more. The grass is (not) always greener…

By the way: I can’t sermonise too much. I have a Race, a Polar V3 and a Garmin 955. There just isn’t one perfect watch for me! If I could have the following, I’d be a one watch guy:

                        • Suunto watch - for me, they are the nicest looking
                        • in-built running plans (like Polar or Garmin, but preferably, Polar)
                        • the ability to ‘really’ import data from another device (in my case a Tacx trainer or using Virtual Training Peaks/ Rouvy) which would then show the relevant heart rate info etc.

I think that would probably do it 😉

Meanwhile, I struggle onwards, in my quest for reducing three to two 🙂

As I understand, Suunto already had this for only one model? That said, TrainAsOne way better than Garmin’s offering and integrates well with Suunto…

I’ve seen rumours of the ‘Run’ model. The article in an Australian outlet has been pulled. Rumours only or was a leak unpublished?
