Solar Widget no longer shows "Maximal" in bright sun

@LitchiMonster where do you live? I live in Sweden and the sun is quite low now. So physics tells that the sun radiation is lower too. I have like Medium at “direct” sunlight.

@rooldaa I’m in Cape Town, we have some really bright sunny days, with the sun right over head at the moment!

@surfboomerang Battery level was around 50% when I was checking the widget today. I did two soft resets, but it is still only showing “High” in bright, direct sunlight. Thanks everyone for the replies, guess it’s something small up with the unit, not serious enough to send it in I think!

I’m wondering if anyone else has come across this, or is it just my aging Vertical Titanium? Currently here in the South African summer on a bright sunny day the widget only shows “High” when facing direct sunlight. I recall last summer it would always show “Maximal” and the full solar ring would fill out. This summer I’ve only briefly seen it show “Maximal”, before it goes back to showing “High”. Could it be possible a software update changed the thresholds, or is it that my watch solar panel isn’t what it once was?
I had same problem in July/August, I’ve punched few times my Vertical in hand (not too hard), and it worked. It may sounds like lie or joke, but really :D. At this time its impossible to get max on my country anyway.

Just an update, eventually my Vertical solar performance degraded to the extent where it would only record “low” solar, even in direct South African summer sun. So, I sent the watch in to our local agent and it is being replaced under warranty. They confirmed the solar was not working when compared to another vertical.

My works since i punched it softly in 2024 :P. Dirtectly in full sun = MAX.
