      I used the new map ruler bearing feature on my Race last night & it is absolutely brilliant !!

      It doesn’t just set a straight line bearing that would require you to navigate a straight line course but it creates a new POI where you place the end of the ruler then points to that wherever you are & also gives a countdown distance to said POI in the map tooth & on the compass screen.

      I’d previously asked for the ability to add a bearing numerically into the watch but this trumps that by a country mile.

      Fantastic feature so a massive well done Suunto from me😁

        I’ve been using this quite a lot recently but couldn’t work out how to get rid of the bearing & data tooth once I’d reached the destination, it’s not a problem if you set another bearing but if you just want to go back to the standard map the tooth remains & the distance displayed in it increases as you move away from the POI (with the tooth unnecessarily taking up the bottom part of the map screen).

        I’ve now worked out that if you enter the map options & re-select the compass (even though it will already be enabled) the bearing is cleared & the map will be full screen again.

        Hopefully someone finds this a useful tip.

          @Mattg576 thank you for sharing.
          I would have thought just selecting any different navigation option in the map’s navigation menu should do the job.
          Like “breadcrumb” if you don’t need any other navigation. Or “route” if you want to follow a route, etc.

            @Egika Good point, well presented 😊

            I’ve just had a play with it & you’re right, there is now a ‘breadcrumb’ option in the map menu that didn’t used to be there so must have been added in the latest software (unless I just completely missed it previously).

            Either way it’s a fantastic tool to have & thanks for the feedback👍
