I have SV and after running I don’t see informations about Vo2max on the watch and also in the App.
It shows “register at least one outdoor run to gain insights” …but my last run was 34 minutes for 6km 🤔
I have used custom run sport mode.

I’m not trying to scare you here, but it took me almost two years to get the first VO2max estimate. I even asked for exact requirements from Suunto support and almost everything they listed back then was eventually proven wrong. I know that in one SW version last year they loosened up the requirements, but they never documented what exatly was needed. Anyway, this is what the support told me:

          • only run or walk activities are good for this (this is correct, I got my first VO2max by choosing Walking)
          • 15-20 minutes (I tried a lot of different durations, and short 15-20 minute runs never did the trick)
          • must be perfect HR and GPS recording (I used to try with both wrist HR and with HR strap, but nothing. Eventually when I got the measurement I was using wrist HR and I had actually walked through a big building and so my GPS recording was far from perfect, but still it worked!)
          • activity must be long and hard enough; an easy walk on zones 1-2 won’t do it. (I used to try and keep my HR in Z3 as long as I could, but no… Actually, my first measurement came after an hour long walk with average speed of 6 km/h. My HR was mostly zone 1 and shortly touched zone 2 on an uphill part of the walk).

I don’t know if something was done in the most recent SW version, but now I am suddenly getting the VO2max measurement every time I go for a long walk. It just took a quite a long time and a few sw upgrades, but those official requirements were really bollocks.

Many experts in this forum have emphasized that your own HR zones limits must be set correctly in the watch. For instance I have modified my max HR (my actual max HR plus 2) and my aerobic threshold (used ZoneSense to determine that) instead of just using the age and percentage calculations. Also, I have been exercising a lot this year; I have more than doubled my CTL in a few months. I believe that my previously absolutely hideously low condition combined with the badly configured HR zones prevented VO2max from happening.

          Good luck!

@BrunoH hmmm…sorry to heard that but my watch work as expected. My first SV was bought about 2 years ago. After third run i already got my VO2Max. I usually run 5km-6km, ascent less than 30 meter and take around 30 mins to 40 mins to finish. So for my case, i think is not related to firmware issue. I mostly run zone 2-3. i do set my heart rate zone before i started my first run.

Recently my SV touch screen got issue then i got the replacement under warranty. I got the VO2Max after first run as well.
