So there’s this very simple but useful and lightweight app called Sun (and Moon being its sibling):

There’s also a very informative watchface many of us love:

What if the S+ Sun was to be redesigned to resemble the watchface or a sun widget?

Clearly - there’s a better way of showing the sun / moon data graphically, as it has been done already. Also, the same visual language could be used.

Currently, reading the “sunset in x” and the other data is cumbersome, and this S+ app has great potential for hiking / photography and other uses where rushing for sunset is important.

Are there any plans for this S+ app redesign?

@Łukasz-Szmigiel Yes, I agree that Sun app needs a redesign. It’s planned, but I’m not sure when it will happen. Thank you for the feedback!

@Raimo-Järvi I’ve noticed it has been polished recently. Nothing too fancy but well done for readability. Thanks!

Just the math in the example seems to be a little off… 🤪

@Egika ouch, I’ll have to check if it’s just in the example 😉

@Łukasz-Szmigiel I haven’t worked at Suunto for a while now. I polished the app a bit, I guess it just took a while to get it published 🙂

I think the example screenshot has been generated with some strange location and time zone combination. Like Finnish location and Chinese time zone.

@Raimo-Järvi great to hear from you, Raimo!
As long as the S+ itself is working I take this as what it is: an example picture of the layout.

                Have a nice day!!

I was trying this sun app today. Could someone explain what the yellow line and time on the top means? It not current time cuz i was outside around 17 (5pm) 😃
Also the time “13:37” did not change.

I would bet “over the horizon” time. … so in fact daylight hours

Thanks guys. Its solar noon, checked it with another app 👍😉 The “line” icon is still a bit of a mystery for me. But i guess its the best representation of solar noon?
Cant come up with an better idea for an icon myself 😅

Maybe something like ^ or a custom one like half a circle with a circle on top
