Time missing from 7 fields display on specific sport

I have in two different sport modes (cycling and moutnaineering) a 7 fields display. On each sport I have set different fields. In cycling sport mode time is missing from the very top of the display while on mountaineering (and other sports as well) it is there. I tried to delete it and recreate it but the time keeps missing, although on the customization page is included.

I know it’s not a big issue but it’s annoying to change display to see what time it is while it is supposed to be there. Any ideas?

@Panagiotis-Kritikakos This is a known (and very annoying) issue.
If the time is shown or not depends on what fields are selected as the top two fields. As far as I know there is no logic behind which fields causes this.To workaround this issue, try to re-arrange the fields in the display. For example move altitude and distance to field 1 and 2 instead of speed and average speed.

@surfboomerang Thanks! I just changed Distance [2] <-> Avg Speed [3] and it did the trick.

@Panagiotis-Kritikakos @surfboomerang possibly the “AVG” on top of the field removes the space needed for the time to display…

@2b2bff Had the same set of fields on S9P without issues, despite smaller screen and resolution.

The logic is there:
If a field uses space at the top, like the AVG one, time will be disabled.t6, S6, Elementum Terra, Ambit 3 Sapphire, Spartan Ultra Copper, Traverse Alpha, S7 Graphite LE, S9B Ambassador, S9P Granite Blue Titanium, S9PP Titanium Sand, Vertical All Black, Race Titanium Charcoal,

I think it’s quite ill-logic to remove the time field from a watch, and also to have that field so small…

You can’t have “average” anything at two top options. 1-2 week ago someone solved that on Polish Suunto group. I have mailed to Suunto about that. Just change places Average with different one and time will appear.

Even If, I dont know who would check manual to search “why I dont see time in custom sport face” and find answer “you cant have average on top”

Not everyone needs a big time field.
The good thing ist, that it is super easy to add the time of the day to any data field in the size you want.I’d regard the small little time at the top as an additional information, in case there is some free space. It definitely is not a core function during all exercises

I don’t pretend to be right, that’s just my opinion: a watch should always show the time, is its dirty work ;^)
Likely the problem arise form the lower resolution models, both Race and Race S have a 466x466 display resolution, so, there is plenty of space to show the time field with a decent font size. -
I’d say personal preference is… personal preference. Given the option to have time on one of the fields is fine. However, since the app shows that time is included on this display (with no other side notes) then I’d expect to be there and I like to be there and do not “waste” a field on it.

Guess what - you can only set one field in this view. But the app shows two, since S5.
