      @PJ-Huyghe tough question. It’s been an uphill battle for me. Try sleeping with it on your right wrist with the face facing in (backwards). This works 85%- 90% of the time for me and I’ve tried everything.

        @Stavrogin thanks, I’ll try that. I’m ok with 90%.
        I rebooted my watch before going to sleep yesterday and this night the sleep tracking was accurate. I’ll do some more testing in the next few nights.

        Pretty dissapointing though. Especialy if the other parameters are influenced by this, meaning nothing is accurate anymore. Apparently I’ve been “losing fitness” the last few weeks while I’m in the middle of marathon training smh.

          @PJ-Huyghe nothing of “losing fitness” have anything to do with sleep, it is only TSB based.

            @isazi ok, good to know!
            Can you tell me which parameters are influenced by sleep?

                @PJ-Huyghe Training Peaks metrics take a minute to learn. If you are not used to using them there are a ton of good Youtube videos.

                Also I noticed if you transfered in a ton of workouts when you bought the watch, the TSS could be off. When I transfer a Garmin workout into Suunto it almost doubles the TSS. This could lead to your current training being deemed less than normal.

                One example would be recently I did a recovery trail run with my Epix Pro. Transferring that into Suunto the TSS was 85. When I look at TrainingPeaks for a more accurate number it was 42.

                To make it more complicated (sorry) even though I have all my zones and weight the same in TPs and Suunto, the TSS will be a little different between systems. After a bit of time it will not matter because Suunto will be doing your TSS, TSB and CTL, but for the first bit it could look funky.

                My advice is stay the course and log all your training with your Suunto. The further I get into all this I am starting to think that sleep tracking isn’t really all that important if I am checking in with myself daily. I intuitively knew this, but have been double watching it for the last week and TBH I am less than mesmerized by data that Garmin is telling me. A. I do not agree with all the body battery and what have you that it has been spitting out (maybe this is because I have not been using it for months on end or maybe it is because I have finally left the cult) B. I have a super hard time liking the Connect app. Every page is upselling the Connect + garbage and the data is hard to sus out compared to Suunto.

                I loved that I could put on my Garmin and it just worked and if I clicked my heals together enough it would tell me magic things like how I should feel or what training I needed, but frankly it was just that. For someone that knows what they are doing or is following a bit less generic training plan, Suunto is great. The data is more than what I need and with ZoneSense it is super insightful.

                    @Stavrogin thanks for the insight! It does take a while to understand all the numbers. I’ve used Suunto for a long time before all these new metrics (Suunto Core and one of the early Ambit’s) before I switched to Polar. Now I’m back at Suunto and it does take some getting used to

                      This mirrors my feelings about Garmin. It’s the platform that links to everything, and provides endless data, which almost bludgeons you into submission!

                        @wakarimasen Yeah it is real.

                        I have come off being healthy for a minute though and it is interesting how terrible Garmin is at tracking health metrics. I think that they work if you are living the healthy life and stay within the lines for the most part. Plus you have the endless drumbeat of the cult telling you everything else is garbage because it doesn’t have a flashlight or music. Two problems easily solved without paying over $1000 for a watch.

                        I am much more in tune with my body and where I am at with training with Suunto. I think you will be too. This wakarimasu.
