Track back missing in offline mode/ no wifi
-
Hi, has anyone experience with the track back funcionality in the Vertical watch? Especially when no mobile phone/ wifi connection.
I was mountainering in the Alps. No connection at all to the mobile phone. I logged and saved a track. The other day I wanted to follow the existing track but not possible!!! I could see the track in the Vertical but it is useless to track.I know with a mobile phone connection it is possible to download the track to the App and convert it to a route which I can synchronize with the Vertical. Ready to navigate.
Do I miss the option?
If not:
Dear Suunto developers: Especially for the Vertical it is highly recommend to navigate along an existing track. Useful for glacier walks where a lot of grevasses exist. Unfortunately it is not common to have a good mobile phone connection in the Alps.Btw, I use an iPhone with the Suunto app.

@Roland you are correct, there is a track back function during activity that points to the starting point (not following the route, just pointing to the start). There is no way to convert a recorded activity to a route without using the app.

Something like that??? (it was in Ambit though) https://www.suunto.com/en-gr/Support/Product-support/suunto_ambit3_peak/suunto_ambit3_peak/features/track-back/

@isazi I read somewhere here in a chat that it should be working to syncro between watch and phone only with an existing BT connection. Probably Android but definitely not with an iPhone. Do you have experience in this?
It is sad that Suunto removed such functionality in its premium segment. With Garmin (Fenix) it worked always fine.

@Roland syncing works, but you cannot create a route without internet connection.

You can always turn to the map and follow the coloured tour backwards

@thanasis only if the activity has not been stopped in the meantime. The TO wants to go back the next day.
But this has been discussed like years ago already.
