Help with battery life - Suunto Vertical
-
I’d like the community’s help in better understanding the Suunto Vertical’s battery consumption.
I’ve had the watch for a little over 3 months, but I hadn’t had the opportunity to use it to its full potential… lol
My version is the Solar, and using it daily with notifications ON and Heart Rate Monitor OFF, I got about 30 days of battery life.
Now, using it for daily workouts (1 hour) with notifications ON, Sleep Tracking ON, and Heart Rate Monitor ON, I’ve noticed a daily consumption of around 10%.
For those of you who already have the Vertical, is this the actual battery life at maximum app usage?

@pcosm my situation is at follows: in exactly 7 days, the battery charge dropped from 100% to 74%, with the fact that during this time I played sports for 2,5 hours (trail running and nordic walking). I estimate that the watch after update consumes 2.5%-3% of energy per day (with 24/7 OHR), and during sports training consumption is the same 3%-4% per hour (full performance mode).
I am more than happy with this results
My display settings: brightness is medium and raise to wake is set to low. Tones are off and vibration is on. -
@pcosm I have the exact same problem – about 10% per day. It happened after one of the updates a long time ago and has stayed that way.

I have around 10 days usage.
I average 20 hours a week of activities with probably at least 16 with GPS. I find GPS uses around 2% an hour.
I do not have 24h heart rate or sleep training on. I do have notifications.None Solar version.
I find consumption excellent. Still find it stand to look at battery life of 20% and realise there is still days left! I do normally charge around 20%!

I went 17 days without loading my Vertical. Still have 21% left. During that time I did 7,5h of training with GPS. I have heart rate and sleep measuring on 24/7. Usually I have to load every two weeks but I think solar panel is helping to prolong battery life and it’s been sunny here for past few weeks.
Backlight and raise to wake set to LOW. Also DND ON during sleeping hours. I can’t complain.

I had problems with my Vertical solar for a long time until it was replaced and now lasts a very long time. That’s why I’m testing right now and can share my experience with you.
I have the lighting set to low, by lifting off, no notification, 24h heart rate and sleep recording on. So I have a daily consumption of 2-3% without sport.
The current charge still has 42% after 11 days with 20 hours of gps recording.Honestly, I think your 10% consumption per day with all active settings is quite high. But I haven’t tested it myself yet.

@pcosm I find 10% per day way too much - with 24/7 HR, notifications, sleep on and 12+ hours of GPS per week I have long-time average around 6,5%/d.
