Sensors full of Bubbles, Plastic peels off.
-
@Highlands yes i know that it is not with every watch, i hope it is just small amount of deffective units. Thats why i asked if someone know if suunto identified and correctly addressed issue or they just ignore it and do replacement when needed. Don’t buying right now but my wifes S5 got bubbles and it is out of warranty already som thats reason i started to read about this issue.
-
@Elipsus hope so, but for example to my wifes watch was without issue for more than two years, already few days back we realised that it creating bubbles. It is around 30months from buying. So 8 months is just not enough to know if Race S for example will be without this issue.

@Tomas5 I don’t expect to see Suunto share such information publicly.
Try contacting Suunto Support and see what solution they can offer for a device out of warranty. They might come up with a solution. Good luck -
@Tomas5 This has been fixed. It is no longer an issue.
-
@Brad_Olwin thank you, great news

@Tomas5 It’s certainly not just a small series of watches, as the problem also occurs in the Suunto Vertical, several years after the 9PP.
This concerns production at the factory in Finland and its supposedly high quality compared to Chinese factories. But the facts seem to suggest otherwise.

@maszop “several years”, the 9 peak pro cam in october 2022, while the Vertical came in may 2023, that’s 8 months, not several year
Also, the sensor is provided by LifeQ, not manufactured by Suunto, thus the country of origin of the watch doesn’t matter.
if that’s a troll, its a bad one, and if its not a troll, you gotta really start using Google.

@Elipsus What should I care about the release date?
If there was a defective batch, it should be recalled and customers should be replaced with a non-defective product.
I don’t even recall any official word from Suunto on this matter.A second Suunto Vertical purchased in May 2024 still had this defect. That’s why I’m talking about years.
The customer doesn’t care about the release date, production date, or defective batches. What matters is the purchase date and the length of time the defective product has been on the market without any action from the manufacturer. -
@maszop I misunderstood the “several years”
But yes, i agree with you, and I said so, in this forum, in this post that I would have liked to see a true recall too, i had to make Suunto change my backplate twice. But again, the country of origin has nothing to do, at all.

@Elipsus said in Sensors full of Bubbles, Plastic peels off.:
But again, the country of origin has nothing to do, at all.
I’m perfectly aware of this. That’s why I pointed out that these laments about moving production to China are pointless, because watches from Finland also had problems (also problems with the buttons in 9Baro).
