@nicovoim Your watch likely needs a week or so to calibrate and establish your HRV baseline. A hard reset probably made this worse, as it forces the watch to start learning from scratch again.

      SV: fingers crossed :D
S9 (non-baro): died after 2 months, replaced, holding strong since 03/20
Spartan Trainer: casing broke after 23 months, repaired, lost watertightness 5 months later, died
Despite some pretty bad luck, I still love Suunto!

Same issue here with brand new SR2. I did power the watch down yesterday, nothing has changed since.

@inkognito i don’t think it is connected to hrv. It has to be connected to pulse variables.

@helgonet12 It works based on your HR and especially your HRV, which it checks periodically. Just wait, give your watch a few days to get to know you. Everyone is different, and the watch really needs some time to adapt. I had this with both S9 (once Resources were introduced) and my SV.

@GiPFELKiND The watch does indeed measure your HRV throughout the day in the background; it’s how it calculates your ‘Resources’. This isn’t new and has been a feature for a long time, even on the original Suunto 9 series. You could actually spot when the S9 was measuring HRV because its sensor’s green light would be constant, not blinking like it did for heart rate alone.

That data or its trend is simply fed into the algorithm and isn’t presented to user, most likely because daytime readings can fluctuate wildly and wouldn’t be very useful.

So, in short, nothing has changed on this front.

@inkognito Does the Suunto Race 2 use the same algorithm source as Suunto Race 1? Or did Suunto go over to their own for the Race 2?

@helgonet12 I’m afraid you’ll have to ask someone else. Full disclosure: I’m no Suunto insider, just a long-time enthusiast. I’ve been around for more than six years, and because the technical stuff has always fascinated me, a lot of the details have stuck in my memory 😄

@inkognito ok. Then I hope you’re guessing is right but I doubt it. I never experienced this behaviour on vertical or race 1. And to me it seems strange that it will be corrected after 2 weeks. But we will see 😀. Thanks for your help 🙏

@helgonet12 One last thing that comes to my mind: is your resting HR and max HR set up correctly in your watch?

@inkognito yes, I have the same as on my vertical. Also updated my Zones. Did my first run with Race2 and I have no Zone sense data in app or during the run on the watch.? Do you know if you have to run a couple of times before it shows up?

@helgonet12 Zonesense should work from the first run. But it needs long enough run (first 10 minutes are used for calibration) and you need to use a HR belt. But you probably already know that, right?

@inkognito yes I know and my run was about 50min and puching my self between 60-80%. No zone sense data on the watch 🥲

@nicovoim I got a Race 2 to play with for a few days and have a same issue. Resources are super high every day and I have noticed there is no stress measured. I.e. previously there was usually stress measured directly after an activity, now I am just gaining resources : ) I don’t think it’s calibrating, as it was already mentioned, I think it isn’t working properly.

Went for a easy relaxing 5K run today. The run felt nice but I think Suunto over estimated the “relaxing” part a bit 😅 Resources went up from 24 % to 68 % while being active. Someone else seen this ?

But hey! At least the run wasn’t taged as Vo2Max 🤣🙈

@timecode it’s been doing silly things these few days for me as well. After long run I was still recovering and during work. Then during night I was active.

But, I think it’s starting since today to act like it should be, like magic after midnight. Yesterday it was totally incorrect, today so far absolutely spot on.

Is this a bug or does it need time to adjust? Just got Race 2 and its been showing 79% for 4 days, yesterday i rolled back to previouse update and it finally changed, now the watch automaticly updated to new patch again.
