Hi guys, lately I observe anomalies in altimeter measurments after activities. Is this a known issue in Suunto9 Baro (FW v_2.5.18.)? It works perfectly all time except after activities. Altimeter doesn´t recognize altitude changes.

No issue from 3 S9’s here.

      Question:

How do you see that the altimeter does not change? For example how much should it change?

Also what happens if you eg drive to work etc.

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Works like a charm rest of time. It´s only after activity. Difference between two points is 50m and descent -5m.
It does not mark it when i go down, but when I go back to the previous point it adds 5 m to the previous known altitude. 173 - 5 (doesn´t go down) then 173 + 5 (yes it goes up) = 183 at the same point where I was 3 minutes ago. Stange!

@valdis830 Interesting. Maybe 5m is not the correct threshold?

What would happen after you stop if you go down more than 5m ?

Did this happen also before the update or with the SSU ?

Threshold is correct. It works very well after, but already with this altitude error.
I not tried to decend more, I will try it next time.
I remember that the day I left to train with 2 watches in SSU did not happen this. It goes down -5m correctly

@valdis830 Thanks please check if it’s some threshold or so and I can perhaps try to create a case about this .

Mine will frequently have a different altitude for home prior to and following an activity. This is almost always due to pressure changes and will correct with the next activity. I suggest you do an altitude calibration on the watch, this can be done from the Nav menu. I do not think that this is necessarily a bug.

Unless after reading your post, is this during an activity?
