Hi - I’m having some problems with paired bluetooth heart rate monitors. I have a Polar Verity Sense and H10. The H10 seemed to work ok, but I’ve had problems with the Verity Sense - it will show as connected in “paired devices”, but the heart rate icon doesn’t turn green and no heart rate is displayed. I tried reconnecting with the same result. I then deleted the pairing and re-paired. I was able to use the Verity Sense immediately. However, the next time I went to use the Verity Sense, I had the same issue. When I then attempted to use the H10, which had been working fine, it too showed connected, but the heart rate icon did not turn green, and no heart rate was displayed.

@DrSilverthorn yeah I also have two sensors paired and have issues with both of them. No matter which one I’m trying to use, a green popup shows it’s connected but the icon is gray and blinking. This is very frustrating now. It usually starts to work after a few minutes of connecting and disconnecting but a few days ago I didn’t manage to connect at all…

@OutdoorMan Today I repaired and then immediately tried to use the Verity Sense, and i couldn’t get it to work. Right now, it’s pretty much nonfunctional. If wrist OHR was reliable for me, I wouldn’t care so much.

@safari yesterday I had the same situation, charging went well from 13 to 91%, then it stopped despite the charging icon was still on. I had to disconnect the cable from the watch several times to get more juice.

@DrSilverthorn something weird with sensors is happening and impacting battery.

I went for a run, paired a Stryd, recorded 1h of activity then left the Stryd home and spent the rest of the day far from it… after a full day battery went down 1 or 2%… good.

Then I went to sleep while my Stryd was near and charging (so probably active). After about 7h of sleep my Suunto Vertical lost 15% battery!

Tonight, my 9PP, with automatic updates disabled, updated to version 2.44.52. It wasn’t a big deal because none of my settings were deleted (except for the connection to my heart rate monitor).

I wasn’t thrilled about updating because of the touchscreen bug on the navigation screen, but I’m going to leave it as is and see if I get used to it.

                🙄

Oops. What a disappointment. I just tried adding an interval workout and there’s no sign of out-of-range alerts, interval number, or countdown timer.

Is this normal for the 9PP with this latest update? I understood that these much-requested features were supposed to be added in the Q3 2025 update.

                  😕

                        Well, downgrade once again. 🙄

The new features like Climb2, the HR band battery percentage display, and the new recovery widget don’t personally compensate for the bugs in this update on the 9PP:

Specifically, there’s the already known non-responsive touchscreen on the navigation screen and the new problem of continuous vibration when the route zoom is set to 50 meters.

Especially since I realized that it is not included out-of-range alarms, interval number, or a countdown timer for structured environments (which I think would be worthwhile).

I fill you… After all these months and (kind of) “updates”, I’m still on 2.40.44 firmware: it is not bug free, but it’s way more reliable than what came later.

My 2 cents: from what I heard, out of range alarms are only a pain for those who have them - both with newer Suunto models and Garmin watches.
None of the bugs introduced or left untouched by the last couple of updates affects my usage, and the new climb guidance has been useful on my recent trail runs, so personally I’m happy to keep this update. I see why other users are unhappy, anyway.
