I purchased two Suunto 9 Peak Pro watches. Even with the brightness set to high, the display is still very dim. It looks exactly the same as at medium brightness. It appears half-dim.

@WanessaJimenez since Suunto 9 Peak Pro has an LCD MIP display, brightness setting only applies to when the backlight is activated, for example when you press a button or when the backlight is configured on activate when you turn your wrist. Most of the time the backlight is turned off to conserve the battery.

the screen technology for this watch is to work best in bright outdoor lighting.
Indoors or with dimmer conditions, the backlight will switch on. It makes the screen readable but does not provide great pictures.Also with the different settings the watch will still adjust the actual brightness to ambient light. You basically set the starting point for this regulation
