Race 2 & Suunto Heart Rate Belt?
-
Hi, beginner question. Is the Suunto Heart Rate Belt any good? I’d like to use it with my Race 2.

Many thx

@Cyclepunk Unless you’re getting the Suunto chest strap for free, get the Polar H10

Depends on the use. If you can’t wear the watch during activity and need memory, Suunto is your only choice.
Otherwise, Polar H10 as mentioned above, or Morpheus M7 if you prefer rechargeable Li-Ion battery. Has two BT channels and ANT+, works great with ZoneSense. -

Never needed the memory feature as I always wear the watch while training.
There was a thread about the smell of the Suunto Belt and I can confirm it.
So maybe give polar a try. -

Heart Rate Belt
Using Suunto Race 2 with the Suunto HR Belt — works great, no issues at all. Solid combo!
But hey… it’s still just a chest strap
Would love some fancy running dynamics next. -
@Cyclepunk that’s the only strap that works hassle free with race 2 for me.
avoid polar h10 - nothing but problems -
@mich-heller what issues did u have with the h10? I have one now and it is great. Works perfectly.

@TED77
there were a few- crazy readings (like 160-175bpm during light warmup jog, then after ~10mins immediate drop to normal values below 120bpm)
- no readings during workouts - strap just stopped working after some time
- I had to un-pair and pair with belt practically every 3rd workout because watch was unable to connect to belt
had no issues whatsoever with the belt and apple watch ultra 2. with race 2 it works like a trash

@mich-heller that’s definitely not good. Weird. So far I haven’t had any issues except a bit of difficulty initially updating the h10 software. Let us know if u work out what it was.

@TED77 luckily I have both Suunto and Polar belts, so I just switched to Suunto and gave Polar to my wife, since she’s an Apple girl and has no problems with H10

that is my solution
