Aerobic Decoupling AND a Guide?
-
Is this combination possible without getting screwy results?
I ran a very simple guide for an Easy run today from Runna (just one step - 8km real easy pace - didn’t really need the guide but wanted to check it actually works).
I also have the Aerobic Decoupling app activated.
I ran a total of 8.4km.
I also left auto laps (1km) on, as the latest firmware notes implied that was now possible whilst following a guide.
My experience was that I got alerts every 1km, this worked well.
In the app post run…all the summary data is correct, and the lap data is correct if I click on 1km, 5km, or 10km step sizes.
HOWEVER, if I click to view the manual steps…I end up with 4 steps as per the image.
#1 - 10minute lap of 1mile. #2 - 10minute lap of 1mile #3 - 50minute lap of 8km #4 - 3minute lap of 400metresI think #1 and #2 relate to the Aerobic Decoupling app…it does a 10minute warm up and then 10mins of calibration. (this all threw me as I thought I was getting both 1km AND 1mile alerts for the first 2miles!)
Technically this is all OK, except step 3 started at time 0 and ran for 50mins (ie steps 1 and 2 are contained WITHIN the 3rd step). I didn’t run for 73mins, I ran for 53mins.
It seems like this could be corrected visually whilst retaining all the data - by showing steps 1 and 2 “within” the 3rd step so it would be interpreted along the lines of >>
#3 - 50minute lap of 8km - - #1 - 10minute lap of 1mile. - - #2 - 10minute lap of 1mile #4 - 3minute lap of 400metresAnd more probably represented visually in the app as per -
#1 - 50minute lap of 8km #1A - 10minute lap of 1mile. #1B- 10minute lap of 1mile #4 - 3minute lap of 400metresIs this conceivably an enhancement that could be made?
(note - Strava had the same incorrect “Workout” representation too).
