Battery drain
-
My Race S drains possibly a bit quicker, but not by a huge amount. I charged it Monday in the evening and now it is at 74% including about an hour of GPS tracking…
-
@Horizontal_2 It happened once in the past last year and now was the second time. The rapid discharge has stopped once I’ve recorded an activity - a run.
-
@sky-runner Do you use an HR belt?
-
I can say this clearly; I don’t need any extensive testing, I’ve been using Sunto Vertical Titanium Solar for a year and a half. After the last firmware update, I started carrying my charging cable with me. Besides, my sports activities have decreased due to winter, I only use it daily. Now my charging cycle has dropped to once every 6 days.
-
@safari I agree 100%, we need a fix for this
-
@safari I’m using a SVTS, backlight, raise to wake and notifications are off. I’m doing around 4 GPS hors per week plus two hours without GPS and i recharge it evry two and a half weeks, if I shut down 24/7 and sleep tracking I get a week more.
So, 6 days it is not normal and not related to the last firmware. Do you have backlight or raise two wacke activated? Do you get hundreds of notifications per day? Did you tried to perform a softreset? -

Yes, two different external HR sensors connected to the watch - Suunto HR sensor and Coros Armband HR sensor.
And yes, when I had a similar issue in the past it was likely caused by the external HR sensor. But what is interesting and different in this case is that the rapid discharge has happened after the watch battery got fully discharged and the watch turned off, then I charged the batter and didn’t have any activities.

Hi!
Back again

So, this was a wonderful cycle. It was like the Vertical 2 knew I was logging the drain. It was spot on.
Results:
- 100% to 12%
- Almost 14 days.
- 15,5 h of GPS (the first big activity was skiing. The rest was running, sometimes with maps)
This is what I changed since the last time, where the drain was too high:
- No SPO2. I don’t even know how to interpreted the data, so why measure
- No use of SuuntoPlus Apps during activities.
Still want to know what the effect of the H10 will be, but I’m actually pretty happy with the HR measurements from wrist.

@segi_pn Thanks! So, still a sharp discharge at the first ~10%?
Seems overall better than before? Are you statisfied? For how long do you have the Vertical by the way?
-
@cosme.costa
I’ve done a soft reset a few times. It hasn’t helped much.
My watch is used daily without any activity being activated.
HR tracking and notifications are on. I wear it on my wrist at night.
Wrist wake-up is on, high.
Screen brightness is medium.
Notifications are on.
I manually sync with my phone 2-3 times a day.
The watch face is athletic.
Daily alarm is on and rings every morning.
These are the things that come to mind.
It’s 100% charged on Monday and drops to 47% on Thursday. -
@safari Shut down wrist wake-up…In my experience this is a killer, it enables the backlight even during the day so the battery consumption is very high.
Anyway, with your configuration, I would expect this battery drain, nothing too strange. -
@safari in your iPhone do you have Settings > General > Background App Refresh for the Suunto app disabled.
I did see more battery drain when this was on.
