Limited edition default watch face gone
-
Great news. I just tried on ny Suunto Race 1 and it is also available, but temperature shows 0°C.

@MikkoKartano
In fact I saw that the “Vector Classic” dial is now available on the Suunto Store, at this point I don’t understand why they don’t also make the “Outback Adventure” dial available for Vertical Limited. -
Grandissimi! Grazie per il nuovo quadrante

-
@zhangschmidt I have the same problem…any update from Suunto on this? Is this just a bug or a strange consequence to paying more for the anniversary edition? We don’t get the standard default face from the 2?

This is the response of the support:
Dear Customer,
Thank you for your reply and for providing the relevant information.
Please note that some watch faces are indeed not available on the Anniversary Edition Vertical 2. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We will forward your request to the relevant department and suggest that they add the watch face in a future update. We hope you understand. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We hope

@bruns69 thank you for following up and sharing that info…it seems…well…underwhelming…almost like they just forgot. Regardless, the Outdoor Adventure face is still my favorite and I miss it…until…the classic Vector allows to edit complications!! Love the face…but really I don’t need ABC on the face…much rather repurpose those three fields to other choices. Thanks!
-
@bruns69 Well…I absolutely respect Suunto bringing the new classic vertical face to many legacy watches…right thing to do. Removing Outdoor adventure from the Anniversary edition…mmm…doesn’t seem like the right thing to do. It’s obviously not a technical limitation…seems VERY peculiar to me to not make all faces available to your most expensive watch.

every watch has a default watch face, that is permanently installed on the watch.
This is to make sure that you have a watch face, even if you have never selected from the S+ store. Now the Vertical 2 has the Outback Adventure, while the Vertical 2 anniversary edition has the Vector.
This probably caused some trouble and confusion, after the Vector watch face became available for all Verticals. The solution is, that the Vector watch face now is the default on all Vertical 2 watches, while Outback adventure can be installed from the S+ store.

I agree with what you say but there is something that is not working because on my 90th anniversary, as a default dial I have the Vector Classic but inside the Store I do not have the Outback Adventure but again the Vector Classic!
-
@Egika I always thought that the default watchface is a part of the firmware? How can this change without new firmware?

In fact, in my opinion Suunto made a bit of confusion regarding the models because the error lies in the fact that:I
-
The Vertical 2 should have the “Outback Adventure” dial by default and the Vector Classic in the store.
-
The Vertical 2 Anniversary should have the “Vector Classic” dial by default and the “Outback Adventure” dial in the store.
But unfortunately the reality at the moment is not this, Suunto has made the Vector Classic available also for owners of the Anniversary version and eliminated the Outback Adventure dial for the latter.
-
-
@bruns69 right.
But the Outback Adventure watch face should be in the store.
At least it is for my standard V2 -
@Egika This is not correct… if have V2, latest firmware (2.50.28), and I have the V2 watchface installed, but it’s not visible in Suunto Plus Store… I think this is ok because the V2 watchface is the original watchface in my watch (firmware?)… and I can see the anniversary watchface in the store. I don’t have the anniversary watch, but someone here said that this special edition has another firmware (2.50.80)… perhaps is this the difference of default watchface?

This is my version:
WATCH UPDATE
Version V2.52.8
The software is up to dateIn addition, I also have the standard Vertical 2 and inside the store I don’t have the Outback Adventure dial.
While in the anniversary inside the store I have the Vector Classic dial.
-
Same here. I have the V2 anniversary edition and Outback Adventure watch face is missing from S+ store. I see the Vector classic. I’m on latest firmware 2.52.8. Would be nice if Suunto would add Outback Adventure to the store for V2 anniversary edition.
-
Hi,
I have the Vertical 2 limited edition with Vector classic watchface.
Inside the Suunto plus store I also do not have the Outback (standard V2) watchfaceSoftware version 2.52.8
-
ok, then the state I have probably is what you will get with the next update.
