I’m having an issue with my Suunto Smart Sensor HRM. I can pair it with my watch without any problems. Via the Suunto app on my phone I can also find the smart sensor and add it.

However, when I start an activity, the watch still uses its built‑in optical heart‑rate sensor instead of the chest strap. The HR reading stops as soon as I take the watch off my wrist, which suggests the belt isn’t being used at all.

What is the correct procedure to verify that the Suunto Smart Sensor HRM is actually providing the heart‑rate data?

      Manny thanks for any advice.

I think it is the following:

After you select an activity but before you start it, scroll down to trainingoptions, then sensors. There you must enable the use of your connected heartrate sensor for that activity.

@elbee tnx for your help. Indeed that was the issue, tested it this morning. In the trainingsoptions menu there is als the option to switch off the wrist measurement.
