      Hi everyone,
I want to report a critical issue introduced (or exposed) by the recent Suunto app update 6.13.6 on Android with the Suunto Ambit3 Peak.

      The problem
After the update, the Ambit3 Peak entered a continuous pairing loop:

The phone would confirm the watch was paired. Immediately afterwards the app would start the pairing process again. This repeated endlessly.

All the standard troubleshooting steps were followed thoroughly:

Forgot the device in phone Bluetooth settings
Unpaired on the watch (Options → Pair → MobileApp)
Hard reset of the watch (all 5 buttons)
Cleared app cache + data / full reinstall
Multiple restarts of phone and watch
Started pairing strictly from the watch

      Nothing resolved the loop.

      Working solution
Uninstalling 6.13.6 and side-loading the previous stable version 6.7.12 from an APK archive fixed the problem completely. The watch paired successfully, and the phone is now resynchronising the last 35 activities.

      Additional critical point
SuuntoLink + USB does not work on Linux systems.

For Linux users (myself included), the mobile app is the only practical way to sync activities, routes, and settings. When the official Android app breaks pairing for older but still fully supported devices like the Ambit3 Peak, there is simply no acceptable fallback.
This is not a minor inconvenience — it renders the watch effectively unusable for activity management on Linux.

      Request
Please investigate the pairing regression introduced in 6.13.6 with Ambit3/Traverse devices as a priority. In the meantime, it would be helpful if Suunto could:

      Acknowledge the issue
Provide a fixed build or official guidance on safe rollback
Consider improving Linux support for SuuntoLink (or providing a reliable alternative)

Happy to provide logs, exact steps, phone model, Lenovo P2, and Android version, 14 if needed.
      Thanks.

@mcmahonsport you can check my sommet app for Linux here on the forum. May come handy for you. It still didn’t get suunto api, but I applied for it. But at least you can get your activities, flash firmware, change sports modes etc etc

This morning the Suunto app on my phone automatically updated itself to 6.13.6 (stable release, not beta [edit: it is beta: now removed]). The exact same pairing loop came back immediately:

Phone confirms the Ambit3 Peak is paired
App then starts the pairing process again
                      Infinite loop

                      Device details for reference:

                      Phone: Lenovo P2
                      Android version: 14
Desktop OS: Manjaro Linux (so SuuntoLink + USB is not an option)

I have once again uninstalled 6.13.6 and sideloaded 6.7.12. Pairing works again and the phone is currently re-synchronising the same 35 activities (took about 40 minutes this time).
This confirms that the regression is still present in the current public 6.13.6 build. Auto-update has overridden the previous working version, so anyone who rolled back will eventually be forced back into the broken state unless they keep auto-update disabled.
Please treat this as a confirmed, reproducible issue with Ambit3 Peak on Android 14.

@isazi It is beta - my apologies (now removed myself from it).

@mcmahonsport @isazi Same on ios 3.14.0 (23640) with ambit 3 sports sapphire… Shared screenshot with feedback via beta.
Strangely paired a second ambit 3 peak sapphire and it worked. will try again the sport
edit: the ambit 3 peak paired but it is super slow to sync activities and fails some times
