According to the support page (https://www.suunto.com/de-de/Support/faq-articles/suunto-9-peak-pro/wie-kann-ich-die-batteriemodi-der-suunto-9-peak-pro-optimal-verwenden/) the battery mode of an activity is remembered.

I set the mode from Performance to Endurance when I select the Mountaineering activity. This works fine for the day. When I select Mountaineering on another day the mode is Performance again.
I tried the same on other activities (e.g. Running) and had the same effect.

Why does it not remember the mode?
It is bothering that I have to go down several levels in the menu to set it before starting a training.

@ESegerer I am not sure if someone here can answer why this is this way…

t6, S6, Elementum Terra, Ambit 3 Sapphire, Spartan Ultra Copper, Traverse Alpha, S7 Graphite LE, S9B Ambassador, S9P Titanium, S9PP Titanium, Vertical All Black, Race Titanium Charcoal, Race S Titanium Courtney, Run Lime, Race 2, Vertical 2 Titanium

It is the same for the Vertical 2. I would like it to remember, but it seems to be the way it works, and perhaps there is a good reason.

            I checked with Suunto:
They say it is by design, so people don’t accidentally leave the watch in the lesser mode unintenionally.

At least this is the case with current generation watches. I reported, that function and documentation for S9PP and Vertical differ.

@ESegerer I can understand that’s a reasonable design decision. There do seem to be some inconsistencies though. For example, if I start an exercise, go to Exercise Options and turn off GPS this setting is remembered next time. So, next time I do the exercise I might forget I turned it off. Turning off GPS (maybe to save battery!) seems to me to be a more fundamental change than battery mode. Maybe there’s a good reason. (This is Vertical 2 not 9PP)
