      Hi Suunto team,

I’ve been testing the Suunto Run 2 after many years of using Garmin, and overall I’m really enjoying the watch. I especially like the hardware design, the thin profile, the screen, offline maps, and the simplicity of the Suunto app. After a few days, I’ve also started to appreciate the more minimal visual language of the watch.

There is one feature, however, that I think could be significantly improved with a relatively simple software change: the Lap Table.

I really like the idea and visual design of the Lap Table. Being able to look at the watch during a long run or progression run and see something like:

      Km 1 – pace – HR
Km 2 – pace – HR
Km 3 – pace – HR
Km 4 – pace – HR
      would be extremely useful.

At the moment, however, the table appears to be populated only by manual laps. For runners like me who use Auto Lap every 1 km, this makes the feature much less useful.
I considered pressing the manual Lap button every time the 1 km Auto Lap alert appears, but that creates duplicated laps in the activity file and makes the post-run analysis in Suunto App or TrainingPeaks unnecessarily messy.
A very simple solution would be an option such as:

      Lap Table source:
– Auto Laps
– Manual Laps

Or simply allow Auto Laps to populate the existing Lap Table.

This would make the screen especially valuable for long runs, progression runs and races, where seeing the evolution of pace and heart rate kilometre by kilometre is very useful without having to press a button every kilometre.

The watch already records all of this information, so this feels like a feature that could potentially be added through software rather than requiring any hardware change.
Overall, I’m enjoying the Run 2 a lot, and this is exactly the kind of small UX improvement that would make the running experience considerably better for me.

      Thanks for considering it.

@Cristian-Recabarren I have the Run 1 but it should be same, in sport modes you can customize the lap table to be auto-laps and not manual laps.

        SRS Ti
SRun (primarily road runner so testing SRun is a must ;))

          @herlas

I suppose this refers to the table available during the activity — all the fields are just manual split markers.

Sorry to butt in, but I’m interested too.
Actually, if I’m not mistaken, I can only add a manual lap table

Just to be sure when I try to customize the manual lap table (data options) for all items Power, Vertical…, Speed and Pace I’ve only (Manual) as option

It’s exactly as it is — the Run 1 legacy has been carefully and tenderly ported to the Run 2…

              Oh, how many wondrous innovations
              The spirit of enlightenment conceives,
              And Experience, born of tribulations,
And Genius, which the paradox receives… 😄
