[Feature Request S9]: Integrate VO2max into watch
-
Here and there discussed, but did I find no separate thread. Maybe a licensing issue (Firstbeat) as well.
It would also be cool to have the possibility to improve the fitness level (Maintain, Improve, Boost). -
EPOC gives you a good estimate of this type of thing. Problem is these VO2 numbers are approximate and often off. The VO2 numbers I had from my A3P were way, way off from lab tests.

Hm…I first thought about the Firstbeat algorithm which is already present in the S3 Fitness.
I read somewhere the EPOC and VO2max are independent values. For me, VO2max is somehow an abstract fitness level. Can EPOC deliver a similar statement?
What is VO2 in the A3P and how is it calculated?

I still second this and wonder if any of the fitness features are coming to the S9 at any point. VO2max would have my biggest priority, it may not be exact exact but it does give a nice indication of your progress over time…

EPOC can be use to monitor the training load no to estimate your VO2max.
It looks like more to training effect than VO2max.
I use it to monitor the training load, like TSS in training peaks… or RSS in stryd.

Hi there. We are sorry for the delayed response. We have added your inquiry about firstbeat integration for S9 as a feature/feedback request and forward it to our Development Team. Hopefully in the future updates, this will be available. Thank you for your patience. -Sani/Danielle/Tess/Tom/Alex/Clark/April/Louis/José

I love a statement from suunto Facebook community,
A suunto user said suunto has answered the features requests.
Another suunto user said the answer is just a mechanical reply, if you request a rocket launcher from suunto’s social media, you will get the same reply.
All suunto users laughed.
