Suunto 9 baro - GPS track not accurate

First I wanted to buy Suunto Ambit 3, a friend of mine has an Ambit 2 and never has issues with the tracks. But it’s still expensive for a 6 year old watch, which means was a very good one.

I tried Xiaomi stratos 2, good tracks - not such a good application, was too much of a smartwatch than sport watch.
I tried then Fenix 5, good tracks, problems with software/battery, even with no run and WHR stopped the battery was out in 2 days.
So I was looking at suunto spartan and suunto 9.

…and seems i have to get back to ambit 3.

I have once in 1.5 years had an issue where the gps signal was totally crazy for half of the activity. After that, no bad signals ever again. Not one out of 10… never.

I used to buy second hand watches and they were always quite good. But now I have decided to order a new one from a shop.

Maybe I’ve missed it, but did you already try a different path ?

Back to that “faulty” track, Is there any kind of electric stuff along that road (plant, pillar etc)?
Do you wear any kind of magnetic stuff near your watch.
You can’t imagine the mess …

I don’t know the true factors, there are some rumors:

• A3P has more simple components then new products, this makes its GPS has less interference.
• A3P has a GPS not under screen, it makes its GPS has less interference, (well let’s see S5?)
• A3P’s GPS (Sirfstar V) has better tune

I tried different paths and sometimes the tracks are decent. But 1 from 5 had accuracy issues.

not really, but along the road there are some 380v cables.

No magnetic stuff. I was thinking to buy this watch in order to get rid of phone.

S9 has a good GPS reception I am sure, something is going not well with your setup

@TELE-HO When I talk of bad accuracy 1/10 times, I don’t talk about crazy things, just small off track problem like @florin2528 has reported.

Power saving is off, I didn’t consider using that option since i’m not an ultra runner.
the watch has now 71% of battery, yesterday could have like 80%.

I was waiting to get GPS signal before starting the run. I was running with phone(runtastic app, running for the oceans) and the distance between S9 and runtastic was getting bigger with every kilometer i made. I spend like 10 seconds on the finish before stopping the run, on an open space. Not visible on the track.

I can share the GPX file if you would like.

I can wait till 29 of june, last day for retuning the product back.

@florin2528 hmmm strange to be honest. I saw the tracks and there are drop outs on the reception.
Just to confirm once more, at the prestart screen the color is green right?

I think his GPS lost randomly the signal, it’s why he had the straight line sometime and sometime not

yes, was green.
My second run with S9 was on Sibiu 10k marathon and I din’t wait for GPS to be green and start running. I didn’t get the GPS at all. Run was recorded but with no GPS. So now, I always wait.

Well … Let’s say that this is not an optimal environment for GPS and Compass, that’s a magnetic net
