@Eduardohood97 to be honest, GPS depends on so many factors that comparisons are very difficult. Which Garmin watch are you comparing with? Check dcrainmaker on Google and look for comparisons there, but be aware that Suunto 9 got GPS updates on the past months and performance are better now. Also check this forum for threads about comparing S9 GPS accuracy to other devices.

and regarding the “drain fast” question… my opinion: no, it does not drain fast.
I would say you can run 4-5 marathons within one battery charge. I don’t know Fenix 5, but with Fenix 3 I’ve certainly had a bigger battery drain than with S9living sideways

depends how you treat it…when I use performancemode with chest HR strap I get up to 32h predicted batterylife.
this is reduced to around 25h if you use OHR and of course if you use backlight for nightruns and additionally GLONASS or Galileo it will be less (as usual, with more features activated it becomes less batterylife) -
@Eduardohood97 you get 25 hours in performance mode, so I believe you can run multiple marathons with that.

@TELE-HO I would talk about battery life, not drain, as I don’t know exactly how much energy is stored in each watch battery, but my F3 and F5 both topped at around 12 hours of battery life.

@Eduardohood97 for example, the Spartan Ultra has worse battery life than the S9/S9-baro and it is still capable of about 12-15h of battery life with all bells and whistles turned on (yes, navigation too), so I think you’re good in the battery department as far as marathons go.

Not quite sure if this is the perfect place to - once more - wonder about the GPS-performance of the (= my !) Suunto 9.
The GPS-performance (for me GPS+Galileo) for me in a regular running area with some challenges like trees and/or buildings is mostly acceptable, in the worst case mediocre due to some really annoying short but heavy ‘fluctuations’.
BUT whenever there is a firmware update (as the hotfix) - or a soft-reset - than suddenly the GPS-performance is significantly improved … in the same area as described before … and obviously slightly deteriorating after some days until it is (see above) … no longer really good.
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos … might this be connected to something like a ‘not perfect’ storage ‘cleaning’ referring to A-GPS, so that only at the first start(s) after a reset the performance is good, or is only at the first runs after a reset that the GPS-1second-rhythm is really kept? Just wondering … and hoping for an improvement… or higher consistency.
