S7 roadmap: what are Suunto plans here?

@Liam-Larkin None. I think to this day, the memory function is really vendor specific feature, i.e. Polar will support offline recording for their OH1 or H10 sensors, but nothing else.

@Liam-Larkin I don’t think they ever said said sensor works with Suunto 7, let’s be clear about that. In fact, the manual doesn’t mentions sensors at all. What we have in third party apps like Sporty Go is a standard BLE sensor stuff, courtesy of Wear OS. Memory most definitely would have been a vendor specific feature.

Who knows? Maybe Suunto relents and adds sensors to 7? Maybe even memory. But as of now, nothing like this is available.

@Liam-Larkin @NickK is correct, no third party apps will support the memory function of the smart belt. I think Suunto knows this is a weak point for the S7, use in ball games, biking with the watch on the handlebars and other sports, even skiing where you might want the watch outside on a jacket. Since this is obvious I would not be surprised if Suunto has something in the works.

@Brad_Olwin Hi Brad I managed to get the Movescount app but it does not record from memory when not in Bluetooth range, do you know if it has been decommissioned in the Movescount app. Thanks Liam

We really need a clear roadmap from Suunto, just as they did with the Spartans.

Look, they jumped the gun, they should acknowledge it and simply start moving forward accordingly. Polar did the same with their Vantages, showed a roadmap they have been fulfilling and Vantage M is a great sports watch now.

A TP premium Account and a “Sporty Go” ( I know it`s free today ) app or other third party stuff ???

All that Account `s and Data transfer between three or more companies ?

Sorry …this can`t be the way - i say suunto please do your homework an give your
firmware ( even the Spartan series ) a kick with structured Intervalls like other manufacurers have since many many years…

So I will take my old Forerunner 610 from 2012 for advanced structured Intervalls…until suunto `will do
their homework…

@hubertus46 Suunto, except on the ambits never had structured intervals. That is a known decision, and by all means without wanting to sparkle any debate, it’s not written anywhere on the specs nor is it a basic feature. Oh oh , I said it again but well I dont care ( about the basic feature)

I think the actual S7 app is only an initial release to be on the market with the S7.

@JANTIKAINEN I hope that besides bringing updates, they show a roadmap. We (the ones who already bought it) but specially those that are interested in buying it, should know what’s coming.
