When I run down and rest, my suunto OHR (left hand) is too high (~170bpm). vivoactive OHR (right hand) is good (~130bpm), suunto 9 baro OHR is bad - why?
Additionally, after the race I did not move my legs but I only moved my hands - suunto heart rate went up to 170bpm 🙂 garmin vivoactive worked perfectly then.
Should I replace my watch with a new one under warranty?

Yes, I’ve tried everything. Nothing helps.

@mimo80 Hate to disappoint, but Suunto 9 OHR can be quite shaky. Search around the forums, really. The issue has been raised many times over the years. I suppose a combination of high profile, weight, and individual anatomy introduces enough wobble to throw off the aging Valencell sensor package. Most often this happens at the beginning of the run, when the watch locks on cadence, but it can happen any time. As was your case. VA4, given its weight, height, and Elevate sensor, should naturally perform better.

That being said, a snug fit, at least 1-2" above wrist bone, perhaps with a wrist band to prevent the watch from moving around should do the trick.

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos mentioned there was a possibility to increase accuracy of OHR at the expense of more battery life. Perhaps, if enough people complain directly to Suunto, we might see that change in future firmware upgrades. Then again, Suunto 7 is using a completely different sensor package, which performs consistently better, and this might point to future changes across the entire line.
