@byron2495 Hi the old “movescount” moves will come eventually

First impression was good, but when I got into the detail I was/am disappointed.
About me: I’m 78 years old, had bypass, had a severe stroke, and I work out regularly to recover my mobility etc. - without blowing my dodgy(ish) heart. Although I do care about tracking my walks, these are usually when on holiday in Spain or Finland. I am interested in my past moves - because I can see progress (or lack of it).
This new app seems to be focused on the young. I am pleased for them. really. If only these things were available for me in the 1960’s . . .
But this app and all it does is absolutely NOT for me. That’s OK. I just delete it from my phone and return gratefully to the movescount were I can see my 400+ moves already made.
You need to know - there are very many who workout strongly and regularly but who never leave the gym. This new app pretty much ignores them.
Specifically:
The graph showing heart rate is not customised to my own heart settings. (max 141; rest 60)And laps are good - to isolate the time/effort for each machine /activity in the gym.

May I ask what points you would like to get improved? I got a bit confused to say the truth
-
After using some days, using in my iPhone, my first opinions:
Good points:
- Design: beauty, clean and modern
- Speed of the app
- Sync works well without problems
- Integration with Apple Health
- Analysis screen
- Detailed information of the workouts
What I miss more:
- Automatically sync with watch when opening the app
- Import routes
- Export routes from the watch
Suggestions for the future:
- Full Watch Settings on the app, specially HR zones, sports customization and multiple sports features (for this last option I understand it depends on spartan firmware update)
- Add planification of future moves
- Add possibility to generate a Suunto Movie or at least connect with Relive service
A long list of missing but the feelings are really good for a beta app that’s only in 0.4 version.
Good job
-
@aldnet unfortunately integration with apple health do not work yet if you check more carefully app logs 0 steps/calories/sleep/daily hr
-
@slashas it’s not working with sleep and steps, but the rest, as a start, is working. I understand they will fix in the future, bu for now I disable this feature in Health App, because in some scenarios seems even the HR data is not transfered to Apple Health.
I will use Rungap until the next version
-
First time I edited one of my moves with app and I have to say It’s straightforward and easy to do.
And furthermore I edited it via my phone on the Android app and the changes were immediately updated on the IOS app (Ipad) a couple of seconds later.
Good job Suunto developers! -
Have a few suggestions about improvements to the app.
-
Possible to navigate in the graph (like on the web-site) for HR, speed ect. so it will be easier to check the data more accurate. Maybe possible to tilt the phone for bigger scale while navigate. and put graphs over each other like the web-site. Would make comparing terrain and HR easier for example.
-
Let more information sync to the app from the clock. Here I mean step-count, calories, sleep and HR. Would be easier to keep track of everything if it got saved to each day in the app/web. Also easier to check and compare restingHR for example. Now it just lay one week in the clock and will be gone.
-
More information in the workout-summary. Would love to see max/min speed, HR ect. Now it just show average for all. And its not that easy to check this in the graph as I mention over here.
-
Also have suggestion to the clock. Its about the smart notifications. Here i would love to find massages ect on the clock when its not check on the phone. Now they just show a few sec on the clock and then disappear. If I’m in a middel of a set and get a text, its not that easy to check it. Would be great to check the massages on the clock after the set without need to find the phone.

Hi! Just installed the Suunto app and already have smth to say)
The overall look and feel is really much, much better than in the Movescount app. Clean and clear. Great job, thank you, guys!
For me as for a beginner swimmer it’s extremely important to know if I was better this time than the previous) So I’d like to see all the info 'bout stoke rate and intervals and so on directly in the app. The ‘Laps’ tab on the Movescount site is the most important for me right now. For example, each time I swim 200 meters as fast as I can and then compare the interval duration with the previous result.
It would also be great if you add Russian language)
Thank you again! -
@ilya-zherikov hello I think Russian language is supported, you are on android or iOS what is main phone language?
-
Hi there! Bought the Suunto Spartan Trainer HR this week, did a couple of workouts using the Suunto App beta. The app is really beautiful, did not show any problem to me, just missing features. I’ll go try the Movescount App now (the google play ratings drove me away from it), just to be able to sync data without a PC.
Will keep an eye on Suunto App, though. As soon the app syncs data with Strava, Movescount or Sports Tracker, I’m sure will coming back. -
@slashas Obviously it’s not supported. I use iPhone SE/iOS 11/Russian language. Anyway, beta version info says ‘The Suunto app is currently only available in English. Translations for other supported languages (German, French, Spanish, Italian, and Finnish) may be incorrect or incomplete’.
-
Well, I’ve just found ‘Laps’ tab on the Sports Tracker site but it’s empty. It seems that not all information from my Spartan Trainer was synced.
-
Sync has improved a lot since I started to test this app and it seems to be rock solid now!
-
@marius-jacobsen-eggerud I own a Spartan for 2 weeks and can just confirm what you’re saying. I am really impressed with the sync process
-
@nicolasp comparing to?
-
I have used the Beta fort the last two days (hopefully I won’t repeat to many comments) and all in all I think the app shows quite a lot of potential, and unfortunately additionally the need for further improvement, as quite a number of (even basic) features need to be added or even re-established.
Currently I miss the following (essential) features:
- Suunto Movie; please do not delete this really outstandig Suunto/App-feature
- anything connected to the data collected about sleep
- anything connected to the data collected about steps (daily, weekly, …)
- there is nothing available about VO2 / RR / EPOC / cadence / PTE
- there is no symbol visible in my watch, that a synchronisation process is ongoing
- tags are somehow missing in the app
I really like:
- the route planning and especially transfer using the app, this is a great tool/feature (please add a way to access/see/transfer „my catalogue“ (my routes))
- that the A-GPS are updated via the app (not quite sure if this is really happening or only shown in the sync-messages)
- it is nice to have a (basic) comparison with older activities (would be nice to add more criteria, e.g. VO2 / RR / EPOC / cadence / PTE)
Synchronisation is rather slow, not too stable but is finished successfully after several (dozen) trials. Please note, that the messages shown after the synchronisation has been finished need tob e improved. Currently there is only the yellow exclamation mark and a message that problems have been found … after a successful sync … a more posotve attitude would be nice
And last: please do not switch to SportTracks, but keep the Suunto/Movescount-Website for the synchronized data, as SportTracks is one more (more or less mediocre) sport-tracking-app/website, that does not offer the features / data that the Suunto/Movescount-website offers.

I really like to support these ideas

@slashas MC app
Did try to sync with MC app but did not work great in my case.
Edited: Android MC App/Galaxy S7 -
@nicolasp on iOS it is syncing equally I would say
-
The app is significantly better than the previous one (movescount app)
-
There are always still errors regarding the heart rate described by the app… especially HF max (Strava takes the corrects one, that from my Suunto Spartan ultra watch)
-
Even as regards the ascent in meters is quite out of phase ….
-
The rest of the proposed graphics are not bad but it is not always clear how they work but I think it’s better to stay more minimalist and not do complicated things …
-
I hope in the future I can pass the data to Strava directly from the app, since now in beta phase is not possible
-
The App in general is well designed and much more stable than before (Movescount app)
-
The function that created video would be nice to get it back #suuntorun
-
Check the battery level of the heart belt using the app wouldn’t be bad
