To be honest. I think we will only see GPS firmware updates (if any) and maybe a bugfix, but unfortunately no new features.
I hope someone proves me wrong.
There will be SuuntoPlus features. That could be significant. Also POI and waypoints. Much more than GPS improvements. I consider those new features.
-
@Brad_Olwin
POI and waypoints are THE requested features… on the other hand I think Suunto Plus did not land yet.
I would really like to see more customization on button and touch behaviour and screens in the menu, like quick menu and main menu etc -
@Brad_Olwin I for one am very much looking forward to these long awaited improvements.
-
@Brad_Olwin
POI and waypoints are already available in the current firmware and worked with the older Movescount app but not with the Suunto APP. So I consider this a restore of an old feature instead of a new one.About the other features… I hope Suunto can surprise me.

@surfboomerang Fair enough!

This post is deleted! -
@pilleus adjustable strength of the vibration would be very cool!

Hi,
Does someone knows if the loved “Track Back from the logbook” option is on its way to Suunto 9?
Example to this option:

Thanks. -
You can do this via app.
Go into activity, press 3 dots upper right and choose Save Route. Then you can pass it to the watch via route manager in app. -
@Maryn Is Bluetooth enough or I need also cellular data? because when i’m in foreign country I usually don’t have this.
-
@Oktan There is a find back option on the Suunto 9 or you can retrace the breadcrumb. I doubt that it will change.
-
@Oktan This is supposed to work without cellular but on iPhones needs to be fixed.

retrace the breadcrumb
I can use it unless I got to a point where I want to sleep the night, end the activity, and at the morning want to go back the same way
-
If Suunto bring drill mode for pool swim, it will be my watch.
-
@renton82 hahahahahah. It wasn’t on the Spartan and we’re working through year 3 of this watch. It’s not going to happen. But I’m with you, it’s a necessary feature for a watch to be a great swim watch.
-
I don’t understand why is a so difficult feature to implement. It was present on ambit 3…
-
@renton82 beats me
-
@renton82 while I don’t want to argue if it’s difficult or time consuming or resource consuming the Spartan /s and the ambit apparently dont share either the same UI either the same UX. Either have same operating systems.
Being there on the ambit , it’s like saying being there on a Garmin. Little help, except the “concept”
-
Sure, but but they all are Suunto watches, all Garmin watches from Fenix 2 (i don’t know Fenix “1”) to Fenix 6 support this feature (i don’t think Fenix 2 is similar to Fenix 6 hardware or software). However, controversy aside, it would be a killer feature for swimmers. That’s the reason why i can’t use a Suunto watch (apart for ambit 2 or ambit 3) for recording my swimming workouts. For every 3500/4000m, i always do 500/700m of drills so every time i would loose a consistent part of my training.
-
@renton82 among others I have requested this as well. I don’t swim lately but I used to and I do understand the importance.
It could even be a suunto plus with a list of drills.
