Does Suunto sell replacement quick release spring bars? I’d like to get some 22 mm spring bars so I can use a few different watch bands. If Suunto sells some could somebody let me know where to order them or, alternatively, could anyone recommend a 22 mm spring bar that fits well with the 9 peak? Thanks!

if you look closely how the straps are designed you’ll find that the bars are most likely more belonging to the strap rather than the watch housing.
Suunto has the width and holes but the strap of any supplier has the bar already implemented as the quick release “lever” should fit nicely into the specific opening in the strap.

@freeheeler Right, good point. So perhaps some standard spring bars and a spring bar tool (rather than the quick release kind)?

Suunto does also try to do business with spare parts since an expensive watch, once sold, does not create any more revenue.
It’s just my thinking and opinion: if Suunto would sell a set to adapt to any other strap they would not be very clever. They already offer the 22/24mm standard with quick release bars and there are plenty of alternative suppliers for that already. Hence I don’t expect Suunto to give away even more market share.

Does your favorite strap not include the correct bar to attach it to your Suunto?
Do you have it already or is there a chance you can request it before your purchase?

@freeheeler it’s actually just something cool/funny I’m trying to put together. My 9 year old son has a Shark Freestyle watch. He really likes it, in part because I told him how much I loved my Shark Freestyle watch when I was his age. I thought it would be cool to have a Shark Freestyle band that I could put on my Suunto 9 Peak every once in a while, especially when he and I are hanging out. So I checked and Shark makes a huge variety of bands, they even make a Shark Freestyle band for the Apple Watch, but they don’t have a band that uses a 22 mm quick release. I should be able to make it work with a standard 22 mm spring bar and tool. I’ve lined his band up to my watch and the size looks fine.

My previous Suunto was a Spartan Sport (and an Ambit before that, and Altimax way before that), so I’m not used to having so many strap options!

I see. and the width of the strap does fit to S9P? I did not check but maybe you’ll find something on aliexpress that matches or that you can combine to make it work 🙂 ✊

…my 7 years son’s got a Suunto 3 now and he’s proud like hell, since he was “promoted” from fitbit to Suunto and is now in line with my wife (S7) and me (S9B) 😉

@bnorthrop I contacted Suunto customer support about buying extra spring bars for the 9 Peak and was told that they don’t currently sell them but would email me if they do start.
