      POI Library 1.jpg
      POI Library 2.jpg

      Well well well …
SUUNTO Dev team boys will hate me !!!
I told today that it was my last suggestion … but in fact I have still some more 🙂 🙂 🙂
So work for them 🙂 if they agree …

Let me tell you my today story …
I was coming from office with my motorbike, still at a good distance from home when she told me … "short petrol soon, my dear " showing me remaining kilometer I can cover …
      Well …
I start becoming anxious when I realized that she was decreasing the kiloimeter most probably 3x faster than the reality …
      So …
I decided to use my SUUNTO !!!
For a mountainer guy … using his watch when he is with its motorbike … what"s hell is it ???

I did that because I was putting some POI nearby my house …
So I parked the bike, selected the POI I was thinking it was my HOME and start to observe the distance versys what the bike was telling me …

      Ouff I survived !!!

However when I was at my home and go to stop the watch… it was writen …
still 1.35 kilometer to do !!!
What’s the hell … my SUUNTO is lying to me ???

No in fact I realized that when I selected the POI … because my personalized text of those nearby my house are all starting by my Town … the rest of the charcteres beign just partially displayed … I took the wrong choice and select the church 🙂 🙂 🙂

      So my post

      3 proposals here

      • Display only 1 POI at a time for selection => more space gained => more text displayed (or bigger)
      • When there is a personnalized text, just display it but no other info => more space gained => even more text displayed (or bigger)
      • In the Android/Apple APP, why cannot we create libraries of POI
So … all the POI nearby a place are grouped together, you start to select this place (could be a summit for example) and then only are proposed the POI of that library …
Doing that you regroup in a very wise manner and als fasten the search …
Firstly I search in my list of POIS’s library the one where I’m … so a list of places, summits …
Even if I have a super long list, it will go far much faster to select the good one
Also all the personalized text will be better displayed (more text bigger font) because I do not need anymore to put the summit name in the personalized text … it is alrready the name of my POIS’s library

Here the example … just of POI name better displayed and without the idea of the library …

BY THE WAY THE SAME LOGIC OF LIBRARY COULD BE APPLIED FOR COURSES …
For example ; It will have been great the 5 days courses of "La haute Route between Chamonix and Zermatt will have been regrouped into a Library of that name … so when I start my journey I go to this library and select … day 3 - blablabla …

POI and route names should be displayed in their completeness, I agree.

          Super !

What do you think about the idea of grouping POIs into some libraries.
For example, nearby Annecy, there are tons of wonderful mountains.
Having a such notion of group, I will have create one per each mountain so that when I climb one I can very fast select one of its POI. …
          …
with a trick … the next time I want to indicate a POIs, the watch start to propose me the latest library I was using … it is the most logical …

Hello Isazi and also what do you think about the notion of Library that could be managed in the APP …
it allow to group in a very logical and coherent manner some POI and eventually soem route together … so super easy and faster to retreive

            For example :

When I’m in the mountain LA TOURNETTE
if this is a Library, I can have my summer route, my winter route and some POI of that mountain … also the famous proposal of some POI for danger zone …

So when I prepare my journey hte day before I can verify that the libray for LA TOURNETTE is loaded on the watch …
and when start my journey in the morning I can select the library (which now will be the one proposed by default … and inside it I can select onfe of its POI or route … then another one then another one … )

It is not super difficult, just a grouping

Don’t know if it helps, but as benchmark Garmin explore app and site have it also.
Still haven’t managed very well to understand how it works (with gpsmap map 64s), but I see that function available

                    @isazi

Hello Isazi, I have another suggestion which came to my mind and may reduce the need of libraries …
There is already a library in the watch … it is the route itself

Why not to have an additional option : navigate to waypoint, the guy choose a route and the watch propose him
first the BEGINNING of the route
second the END of the route
then … May be the other waypoints sorted as the guy set them …

so no need for any additional development of new concept, but just how to propose route waypoints to be navigated to …

=> the notion of library is already here in the watch … just is missing a new navigation option to navigate to one of the route waypoints … at minima 2 poi placed are saved
