Future S9 firmware wishlist summary
-
And just to say it again, posts with wishlists or suggestions are not obligations for Suunto. Suunto gets reports from this, but this is one of many channels they have. Surveys are another public way they have to gather data (and probably with more answers than in the forum), and then there must be all the usual industry stuff like to gather ideas. And after all of this, the decisions are for the management to take.

lock function in watch mod
I would say …
I really hope that Suunto dev are reading us and onsidere our ideas …
but in the same time … as I say when I’m on the other side of the street and a IT man … BIZ people are very imaginative …Let’s see …
My dreams
- better watch faces for visually impaired people
https://forum.suunto.com/topic/6668/a-new-configuration-large-fonts-to-improve-readibility-or-for-visually-impaired-peoplepyc - Possibility to reorganize the menus and also have more interresting menus when clicking on the central button
=> see here https://forum.suunto.com/topic/6728/watch-face-improvement-synthesis- - Compass easier to be access and also during exercise
- ANGEL mode
https://forum.suunto.com/topic/6767/angel-mode-when-your-watch-detect-you-are-lost-and-are-out-of-route/46 - A new naviation possibility to WAY POINTS (1st and last of a GPX then may be the others)

absolutely, it’s a wishlist and not an order agenda
we’ve bought the watches as they were offered. anything on top is the whipped cream (if someone likes whipped cream…) -

Well well wel I’m not fan of whipped cream … but a giant lemon icecream … why not !!!
-
@mister-pyc
me neither… I like the pure thing… reduced to the essential -
@mister-pyc We follow SAFe framework and there is already a method to include “small” features in the backlog top (just if they have value for the customers)

FW update by bluetooth and SA
blood oxygen saturation (in case Valencell is ready for this?)these 2 wishes have been implemented in S9P. Moderators, I think we can close this thread. Future wishes can be suggested for S9P and if hardware allows, it might eventually come to S9B, too
-
@freeheeler those were not even just firmware updates, but hardware (faster Bluetooth and new HR sensor).
-
And I believe the S9 is going to get a new firmware at some point

You’re basically a clairvoyant
-
@stromdiddily autumn is coming
-
@isazi
Spring for me because I’m back to front -
@isazi
yep, that’s what I wanted to point out.
Features/Firmware have been updated and cool stuff has been implemented for the peak and came to the baro to some extend, too.
Now that we know that peak and baro share the same basis, we can wish for features/firmware on the peak and it will come to the baro, too, if hardware allows.
I highly doubt a lock function in watch mode will ever be created -

Maybe in the Suunto 2100

@freeheeler you know what would be cool to have in a new hardware? A pressure sensitive bezzel. Similar to what pixels and HTCs used to have. It may be assigned one or two extra functions without needing to obscure the watch design by additional buttons. And it’s probably gloves friendly as well.
Never need a lock button if you don’t have any XD -
@frederic
gloves cause me most of the unwanted button presses… in 2100 no more gloves will be necessary in central europe -
@freeheeler
The only unwanted button press I’ve ever had was during my muddy ultra a few weeks back, slipped over and completely hit the ground. Ran a few hundred metres before I realised the pause button had been hit and I resumed the activity. Disaster luckily averted!
