You’re basically a clairvoyant

@stromdiddily autumn is coming

@isazi
Spring for me because I’m back to front -
@isazi
yep, that’s what I wanted to point out.
Features/Firmware have been updated and cool stuff has been implemented for the peak and came to the baro to some extend, too.
Now that we know that peak and baro share the same basis, we can wish for features/firmware on the peak and it will come to the baro, too, if hardware allows.
I highly doubt a lock function in watch mode will ever be created -
I highly doubt a lock function in watch mode will ever be created
Maybe in the Suunto 2100

@freeheeler you know what would be cool to have in a new hardware? A pressure sensitive bezzel. Similar to what pixels and HTCs used to have. It may be assigned one or two extra functions without needing to obscure the watch design by additional buttons. And it’s probably gloves friendly as well.
Never need a lock button if you don’t have any XD -
@frederic
gloves cause me most of the unwanted button presses… in 2100 no more gloves will be necessary in central europe -
@freeheeler
The only unwanted button press I’ve ever had was during my muddy ultra a few weeks back, slipped over and completely hit the ground. Ran a few hundred metres before I realised the pause button had been hit and I resumed the activity. Disaster luckily averted! -
For me it can be the gloves but also other reasons such as using poles and my wrist can hit a button
-
@miniforklift
@Frederic
this is both during activity recording, as I understand… we’ve got a lock function for that… it would be crazy if we hadn’t
I couldn’t do mountain biking, gym workout, skitouring, skiing etc without it
my everlasting wish is for a lock function during every day watch mode. I managed to go to activity start screens and switch on do not disturb etc… luckily most of the unwanted presses go towards HR and step screens… still annoying but not “critical”.
I simply don’t understand why there’s no option to lock the watch -
@freeheeler locking bottom campaign… even with the bottoms of the peak you want it. I think is a good idea, I don’t need it, mostly because here is almost summer/spring all the year and I never had an issue, even wearing the s9b with large bottoms (I love that bottoms). Who knows…
-
@freeheeler agreed. I like how garmin does it - can set it to come on automatically, and or you can use hotkey to unlock/lock.
-
@freeheeler Sorry, I thought you were talking during an activity.
For me it’s worse when not in activity. Once I put it in a pocket of my backpack and because we can’t lock the screen, i guess some buttons got pushed and performed a soft reset !!!

Last week I had the possiblity for en extended off-grid test off the S9B and SA. I hiked 70 km in the north norwegian wildernes and partly in Laponia, north Sweden. So i tried out several functions.
Concerning the firmware I have the following suggestion:
When using the trackback function it would be nice to have the same function as you have it in the ordinary navigation mode. That means showing the track back as u blue line and if you are off track(back) get a warning that you leave the track. Especially up here in the north there are often no pathes/trails and even on a trackback you can fast loose your “way”. This improvement of the trackback function would help very much
I planned the route in SA and when navigating you get a diagram that shows ascend and descend for the whole route. Information about how many kilometers left to the finish would be nice.
-
@dmytro pressure sensitive bezel without a good lock is useless. At least for sports that you might do wearing anything with long sleeves.
-
A couple of suggestions:
-
The interval screen could have the zone ring, like GhostRunner?
-
S + CLIMB, could recognize the type of exercise? In other words, do not indicate minutes / km if you exercise by bicycle.
-
-
@mdzott either that or editable threshold. I had htx u11 and it had pressure sensitive sides to perform a designated task, one I have found my threshold of choice, it was even set off in my pocket, so I’m fairly confident sleeves won’t be an issue. That said, sure, a setting to lock or only turn on during training would probably do no harm.
But let’s wait with feature requests until HW is actually there XD -
I’d like the following improvements for the navigation:
- An extra navigation data screen that gets added only when route navigation is activated. Ideally this data screen should be customizable. I’d want the following fields there:
- Next waypoint name
- Distance to next waypoint
- Distance to the end of route
It would also be great to have ascent/descent to the next waypoint. I know most of this information is available elsewhere but I really want to see these fields only when navigation is used.
-
More functionality rich navigation elevation profile. I want ability to zoom the elevation profile in/out just like we zoom the navigation breadcrumbs screen. Also I want it to have hill splitter function e.g. display distance remaining and ascent/descent remaining to the end of the current climb or downhill. Ideally it would be great to be able to switch between the total ascent/descent (an overview mode) and the current climb/descent. I honestly don’t know how to achieve that with only 3 buttons, but these are features I’d use all the time.
-
Distance remaining to the next waypoint or next turn at the bottom of breadcrumbs screen - similarly to how Garmin and Polar display that.
-
I also like a route direction arrow displayed around a screen perimeter on regular non-navigation data screens. The idea is that you can glance on that when looking at your other data screens and have an idea of where the route a turning just ahead of you. Normally it would be at the top of most of the data, but if you missed a turn or about to turn it would shift left or right. Garmin Fenix has this feature but unfortunately it doesn’t quite work the way it should.
-
@sky-runner those are great requests (and I know some field testers have suggested similar things to Suunto already). I surely hope the navigation field will be updated.
