      @łukasz-szmigiel - problem with that is people then complain that it takes too long to get a fix…In most cases on average most people don’t overly get worried with a 100m or so difference.

      Can’t win either way - either complain too long - or complain not accurate enough…

        @jamie-bg you can. Redesign slightly the GPS icon. Make it filled as it is right now for “ok fix” and add a minuscule detail for “good fix”.

        Those who don’t care won’t notice and it’ll be backwards compatible but those who see the difference and for whom it matters will know what to look for.

        But it’ll never get implemented as it’ll take too long to design / develop / test while bringing too little of an improvement and we all know that 😉

            @dimitrios-kanellopoulos that’s too bad 😞
            Would’ve loved such icon.

              @dmytro It could be done with little effort.Simple colors on existing icon.Red-bad,amber-fair,green-good.

                @djordje-s impossible since GPS icon is color coded according to battery mode. I’d go with a small + below the icon or small “OK”. Or maybe double arrow (like a shadow with a +3 px to the right).

                  @łukasz-szmigiel that is true but again traffic light system for notification is recognized and easiest for understanding 🙂

                    @djordje-s I agree. But that would deviate too much from original UI in my opinion.

                      Probably too complicated but it would be useful if the GPS icon could function like a glass getting filled up. What I mean is that with no GPS the icon is just an outline, then as a fix is acquired and the GPS starts coming up to strength the icon starts to fill with colour. Once GPS is locked in and everything is good it’s completely filled and you’re alerted with a beep & vibration (as we currently are)

                      Hope that makes sense? Like that pic above but obviously with the GPS icon instead of a glass 😳

                        @miniforklift that would be cool, but I kinda think that icon is too small for such animation + pixels are not dense enough. For S7 maybe?

                          @miniforklift also,I would add a notification feature(beep+vibration) in a case of week/lost GPS.

                            An updated larger GPS icon for the S9?..

                              Yes please, that would be great. Maybe even a little cluster of vibrations as it’s easy to miss the single ones when you’re running. If it was a small cluster of vibrations you’d also know exactly what it means without having to even look at your watch 👍

                                @miniforklift but then… What would you do with such information during the workout? That the signal is weak?

                                There is an alarm when the signal is lost. At last there was in 2019’s firmware.

                                  Probably not much you can do, but good to know nonetheless

                                  Yes, there could well be. I don’t know if I have ever completely lost GPS during an activity so it’s not something I’m familiar with

                                    @miniforklift speaking from an S5 user’s perspective: There is one “fantastic” notification that I have to deal with - typically when I need my watch the most - ie. when navigating rocky terrain uphils slowly. I don’t want another one of a kind: “hey, you know what, gps is weaker here, just sayin’” 😛

                                      @miniforklift but then you are back to the same issue - people will wait for the glass to be fill and complain how long its taking.

                                      much prefer @Lukasz Szmigiel’s idea - as it basically tells you are good to go, but if you hold on we will be even better. A bit like fused tracking in some ways - 1s less battery, 10s more battery. Its making it a choice.

                                      Traffic light symbol does really signify choice, it more signifies we aren’t there yet…

                                      And I know - the difference is small and really irrelevant, but to the general population - that is a major difference, and is the diference between people saying it takes 10s to get a fix and 30s to get a fix.

                                        @isazi after the hard reset it is even worse.
                                        Today during a race even snap to route did no work.
                                        Route started in the middle and the height profile did not work… so I had to rely on the marks during the race…
                                        Not pleased

                                          @theguyfromthesummit did you sync with the app afterwards? It needs to download agps file + unpack it during first activity.
                                          If nothing helps - contact support maybe? I have never experienced such bad GPS, even during fog + rain near a gorge.

                                            FWIW I had a marathon this morning, it was in a park that was completely unobstructed from anything and not a cloud in the sky. GPS was awful from the start, although I admit this is unusual as I’ve personally never had any issues with my S9B. Before the race I plugged my watch into my laptop and did a sync, optimised GPS etc

                                            After the first few laps I honestly gave up looking at it; I was running a steady pace however the average pace on the watch was continuously fluctuating between 4.30 /km - 6.00/km. I basically ran the marathon by feel which was not ideal, and it ended up recording 42.65km on what was apparently a very strictly measured course 🙄
