    During the summer, HR was recording accurately.

    Then on a couple of recent occasions I got some high (~200bpm) readings for a couple of minutes at the start of the runs.

    I have found that licking my finger and sliding it around under the watch for a few seconds seems to fix things.

    So I’m wondering if with the cooler weather I’m not generating any sweat for a while at the start of the run and this is preventing the HR sensor making good skin contact, but applying a bit of spit fixes this.

    Thoughts?

      @foxster
      ever since I use conductive gel I have always had very good heartbeat recordings. call me crazy but who cares it works very well with my ultra-dry skin (HR chest belt of course, I was in hurry and I’ve just realized you meant the oHR, sorry)

        @foxster It is an optical sensor so I guess it has nothing to do with moisture.
        It could be that the sensor is dirty and that you clean it this way.

          or you have adhesive saliva so the watch just stick in place doing its job 😁

            @foxster In cooler weather the blood flow at the surface can be less than in the summer, this will affect optical HR readings. Mine are always worse in the winter and a it gets colder.
