@isazi
I would like to have that, too. But only noticed that very very recently… did not yet ask for it.
the point is that 24/7 HR would consume more battery when it is only needed during night… -
I would vote for HR during sleep time only
-
@isazi considering that we have to manually set the window when we usually go to sleep and wake up - it shouldn’t be that hard. If it’s set on 00:00 then activate hr at that particular moment. And disable on “wakeup” event.

Please add HR On only on scheduled sleep time, that way I don’t need to manually turn on Daily HR when nighttime before sleep. I think there are people who wants the option to only track HR during sleep. I don’t really need Daily HR always on, but I need the insight on how low my HR goes down when sleeping.
Interesting, I think no one ever asked for that, but makes kinda sense. May be slightly problematic in starting to measure HR only when is sure that you are sleeping. Another solution could be to start measuring in your sleep window anyway and then discard everything outside your detected sleep time.
Eureka!
Great idea.
During the day HR I don’t need it, however I like to know my resting HR.
It would optimize battery usage.
I don’t think it’s really hard to implement, -

it shouldn’t be that hard
I thought the same for a lock function in watch mode
-
does someone ask for an elevation percentage when you are road cycling? Like for example, seeing 12% on one of the inputs that you have on the watch faces during the training.
-
@aalfaro5
did you try Suunto Plus “climb - hill training”? you’ve got the grade and other interesting values displayed in an additional screen -
@isazi
At first, I downgraded to fw 2.16.26 because of battery bug presented in 2.18.20 on my S9BT
In fw 2.16.26 it’s on my 2nd day wit daily hr and sleep tracking, bluetooth connect only 2-3x a day likely after a run or after gym workout, and now is 70% after 40 hrs.I just think the battery can be extended for daytime usage, by only using Hr on during sleep window time (I set it in sleep tracking), because when sleeping, dnd, hr on, it only uses 2-3% battery for sleeping 7-8 hours a day (no bluetooth) but in daytime, hr on uses about 8-10% with no training.
Btw I don’t regret anything for jumping to Suunto again (previously S5) after 3 months with Fenix 6. -
@ierisch you will not have to wait long (*) for the new firmware with the fixed battery life in daily mode.
(*) assuming nothing happens with testing.
-
@isazi We can test it for you if you want
-
@isazi I’m also volunteering
-
@ierisch given the popularity that this idea seems to have, plus considering that I would also personally like this as I find the sleep metrics more interesting than the all day metrics, I submitted this idea to Suunto already. This does not mean it will ever be implemented, I have no idea and no control, but at least they know now.
-
@isazi This is the implementation that you can find in all POLAR watches since 2 year or so. Polar does not check the body resource all day long but only at nigh, they call it “nightly recharge”. Is the only thing I look at to gauge my recovery status.
The benefit is that your battery life is much better whit this option enabled.
I guess that would be beneficial for S9 S9P as well.In short when you toggle this options, the HR switch on at your programmed bed time and off at you programmed wake up time (POLAR has this two parameters too)
Thumb up for the requester! -
@isazi Any idea about the new features this firmware version will bring to us ?
-
@chronbu idea? Yes. Can he tell us? No.

I was really pleased to see something very similar to this when I used ‘Snap To Route’ on a hilly run earlier this week. Would be good if we were able to customise or add to the data that we see on that screen?
For example, it shows altitude at the top but I’d find my total elevation gain more useful. Having the option to add in a couple of other metrics such as gradient, battery percentage and/or time of day would make it an even better screen IMO
Wow, this would be very nice…I’d love such a display where you see the ascent / descent meter you have made and which you have to do…
-
something like this ?
or like a 5 fields custom activity view ?
-
@regger This is already there, when you load a track there is a new screen with the altitude profile that gives you your position in the profile, the ascent done and the remaining one or the actual altitude and the remaining ascent, I do not remember which ones.
I would love to have an improvement of this screen with the degree and also the descent.
-
@cosme-costa
and it would be nice to have the correct number of left ascent. I notice that it’s overshooting most of the time in my case -
@regger The best feature that could be implemented in SuuntoPlus is an alternative of ClimbPro from Garmin watches. Hope to see it in the next firmware
