      @Tieutieu I ordered a Suunto 9 Peak Pro cable that looks completely identical on the pictures… 😊

        @Olaf-Gottschalk That is fine, the 9Peak cable if they still sell the old one is not compatible, the magnets were too strong. I suspect it has been replaced with the new one on Suunto but perhaps not on 3rd party sites.

          @Brad_Olwin thanks for the info!

          Speaking of strong magnets: with the Race - what I don’t understand: the charger connect area is round and the magnets not at all strong so that you can easily rotate the watch while on the charger. But it only has connection to the charging contacts in the position where the cable goes directly out to the right.

          Inadvertently touching this setup leads to the contacts being rotated away from their needed position.

          Has this been a deliberate design?
          I come from Polar charger of the Grit X models which only snap into position in the one alignment it needs…

          How do other users here make sure nothing touches the charging Race?

            @Olaf-Gottschalk Deliberate, as I stated below magnets cannot be stronger. I agree, mine is easy to move and not charge. I still prefer this to a plug though or a clip.

              Without knowing all the technical and design constraints, I would think that a “weak” magnet could have been added with “spartan like” grooves for the charger not to rotate.
              But it is like it is.

                @Brad_Olwin yes, but why didn’t they construct some kind of groove that prevents turning the charge pod underneath the watch?

                  @Olaf-Gottschalk only Suunto knows !
                  As long as the Sv, sr S9pp are getting charged very quickly, I don’t really care how strong the charger olds.
                  I confess it’s a bit « annoying » to have to be careful to put it in place…but it takes 3 seconds…
                  Meantime the back of the watches is very confortable and easy to clean.

                    @Tieutieu the problem is that if you have kids or animals, it’s rather awkward to find a place nobody else can reach… They could have done this much better. If I were a product designer, there’s a 0% chance I would ever design anything alike… 🤣

                      @Olaf-Gottschalk I strongly agree - while on the trail it’s simply impossible to charge through a solar panel or power bank without the charger and watch getting separated. Think it’s super strange there is no lock to keep it in place.
