Got the sunnto race last week and I love the size, weight and the brightness of the watch. But being a Coros Pace 2 owner, below are some of the annoyances I see

    1. Watchfaces are so limited. Hope they would improve over time.
    2. Unable to use the crown during the activity. This is quite annoying - if you are running and you want to go to the next screen in the watch, you can only go by pressing the crown and not rotating. If you want to go the first screen again, you need to go all the way to last screen and come back to screen 1. This is like completely invalidating the crown’s usage. In coros, crown works like that.
    3. During the interval run, the notification appears exactly on the second the workout happens. It would be great if the notification(beep/vibration) happens 5 sec’s prior to the actual workout to start - to give few seconds to the runner to be ready for the interval.
    4. Each time I open the mobile app, it takes 10-20 secs to sync with the watch. In coros this part is super snappy and it is always connected.
    5. The new workout that you build, it took me some time to realize that I need to enable it individually under Sunnto Plus to use it. That’s such a bad UX I would say - imagine having 20 customized workout and trying to find the one you want and then enable it. This is a messy way to use the workout you created.

I am not sure if #3 is possible now, as I am unable to see any settings related to that. If there are any solutions to the above annoyances, I would greatly appreciate.

    Thanks,
    ./Siva.

      1. They are somewhat limited but there are other areas I would prefer development focus on, just my opinion.
      2. This is a good thing, if I am wearing a jacket crown movement would be a serious issue, I would prefer the default as is but it would be good to have the option here, the crown does work for map zooming.
      3. Agreed!
      4. Agreed but the way it is. Does Coros completely sync offline? One great thing with Suunto if you are on a very long trip and will exceed the watch storage capacity without internet the exercise will be saved in the app. This may have something to do with the syncing but I hear you here too.
      5. If you build a workout for a specific day, the watch will ask to implement it prior to workout start so you do not have to manually select it.

        1. Agree! specially having baro instead of altitude in some of them…
        2. To me It is perfect as it is. It would be annoying when you are wearing jackets or gloves…
        3. Fully agree!!! and if the notification is readable (font size) that would be even greater! 🙂
        4. Agree, but not an issue.
        5. How do you select the one you want to do then?

          @Sivaram-Kannan

On Coros there is no beep to announce the serial change upstream.
I agree with Brad, Watchfaces are not a priority in development. I find the existing one rather sober and pretty.
For the crown it is a choice. I think they could have given the user free choice. (maybe in a future update?). Synchronization takes a little longer than other brands but there is calibration of GPS, data and watch functions. What bothers me is that you have to wait for this synchronization to end before you can go to the application menus.

two more that I noticed while running today

            1. To pause a workout you press multi-function, but to resume you press the crown. This almost feels like sunnto is trying hard to find a usage for multi-function button. They could have used only the crown’s press to cover almost all the use cases. What is special about the multi-function button?
            2. There is a back button present in the watch, why do you need to click x when there is a notification? A simple back button press is more logical right?

In coros (and garmin too) you simply click the synced workout that you want to use.

@Sivaram-Kannan Does the race look much smaller than the vertical 2? I’m thinking about switching to the other way round because I’m not quite comfortable with my Suunto
