Suunto watches to come in 2024
-
@krakra It’s easy to follow the MediaMarkt CDN and find HD version of the pictures. The construction seems close to Coros Apex or Vertix, metal bezel and back but plastic lugs, so for sure more plasticky build than current s9pp, vertical or race.
And the renders, as the ones for the current race, don’t do justice to metal parts, adding to the feeling. -
@raceaddict it will also make the watch lighter that could be nice for some( I prefer full titanium build but it indeed have a cost ), the weight of the watch will tell us if there is some polymer used
-
@GiPFELKiND link didn’t available anymore
-
@raceaddict I don’t know if you are disappointed or not, but in my opinion the Apex is really well assembled and lightweight. I currently own an all-plastic Coros Pace 3 and it is such a joy to use that now I refuse to wear heavy, bulky watches. That said, I really hope the Race S is similar to the Apex in terms of materials and assembly (something between 30-40g), with all the goodness of Suunto inside.
-
@cjanevate I’m waiting to see it in real before being disappointed
-
@raceaddict Hi, I’d be interested in seeing some HD images, if you can give me a link, thank you.
-
Calculating numbers I realize that, if the Race has a 1.43" screen with a 49mm diameter, this possible Race S, with a supposed 1.32" screen, should be around 46mm (45mm at least).
49mm - (1.43"-1.32") = 46.20mm
Wow, maybe for tiny wrists like mine, it will still be too big. (Bad for me, good for my wallet).
-
@enriqueescoms In the fcc documents it is said a bezel of 43mm

Well if finally (as that information indicates) it is 43mm, several things:
· Incredible job by Suunto for fitting a very good screen size into such a compact body.
· Perfect for my small wrist/presbyopia combination
· Highly dangerous for my wallet.Although the fact is that taking proportions from the image (taking for certain two known data: 22mm strap width and 1.32" screen size) I get approximate measurements of 44mm bezel, 45mm case and 47.5mm L2L . But who knows…
-
I like it! What’s the purpose of the four studs on the bezel?
-
@Josaiplu A nice smokey, matte titanium back with a brushed stainless bezel would be cool, from a purely aesthetic point of view.
-
Based on competitors’ dimensions, a 1.3" screen corresponds to an Apex Pro with a 46mm case. A 1.2" screen corresponds to a Pace 2 with a 42mm case.
If Suunto has optimized the size of the Race S as well as it has with the Race. We can expect this 1.32" screen to fit into a 45mm case maximum. Which is exactly the size I’m looking for. Perfect
-
@ADidier It’s pretty well confirmed that it’ll be 43mm according to the FCC filing. Although I suppose exactly where and how it’s measured could change that.
-
@duffman19 When I compare with my current Pace 2 I don’t know how they will put a 1.32" screen in a 43 mm chassis
-
@ADidier I did my little analysis on the dimensions from HD image.
Starting from the screen which is 1.32" (33.5mm), I measured that the bracelet is about 22 mm and the case is about 44 mm without the wheel.

@TitaniumDave four what?

I didn’t get it either! -
In this mockup someone made here, the bezel has four studs. I asked what they are for, functionally.
-
@TitaniumDave It isn’t a Race S but a 2017 Suunto Spartan Sport
