Suunto watches to come in 2024
-
@e6321 Android app works on Windows and Android. iOS app works on Mac and all iOS devices. All that is missing are those running Linux, personally I don’t see the need to have a fully independent web site with costs and effort that will reduce or slow improvements to existing hardware and services.
-
@Brad_Olwin I agree entirely. Websites from device manufacturers aren’t usually that great and what Suunto excels at is integrations with other services. There are loads of very good websites and services out there that work well with Suunto so why would they put the effort into their own.
The great thing about working with the ecosystem is that Suunto device owners can tailor their own suite of services. One user might prefer TrainingPeaks and Strava while another might prefer Xhale and TrainerRoad and a third might prefer Runalyse, TrainAsOne, Smashrun, MyFitnessPal or intervals.icu.

Snapshot from Suunto’s instagram yesterday
I immediately wondered :- new vertical declination with heatmap as a background
Or - vertical with tree branches reflections ??
But then I realized it was reflections !
- new vertical declination with heatmap as a background
-
@Tieutieu but where are the new devices to come in 2024 in this picture?
-
@Egika Didn’t know where to put this…and at first I really thought it was a new one with heatmaps !

were you in the starting blocks to delete any potential leak (which i even don’t know if there are some) ?

I wish there was better route organization in the Suunto App. It just becomes a long messy list. I’d like folders to group geographic areas / routes for specific sport activities
-
A dive computer is in the pipeline … https://fccid.io/RYPDW223
-
@pilleus the design seems not far away from SV

I think it is great as is. First, default lists ones already on the watch first then nearest to me, which is very useful. Then by creation time and you can adjust distance for any search. You can enter activity type in the search box!
Folders would just have long difficult to find scrolling lists. It used to be no organization and was difficult. I can find a route quickly now.

@pilleus Nice find. I’m glad Suunto is developing a new dive watch. I’ve been tempted by the Apple Watch Ultra for recreational diving but I 'll have to see what this new one offers. Very Vertical like…
-
I would like a watch that would suit my work better. The things i want is
- A actual flashlight (Red)
- A battery life that is on pair with the Vertical
- Be able to lock the watch in clockmode
So basically 2 out of 3 is just software, but the flashlight is hardware.
Flashlight is really something that i miss so much, and have been because of that been kinda keen on thr new Garmin Tactix
-
@Brad_Olwin I didn’t realize that hierarchy of organization. Thank you! That should help a lot
-
@UjcoCZ works really well - I have the new Karoo, Suunto Race, and SRAM Force D2 - works beautifully

Not everyone happy, I personnaly would wait for next(?) Vertical S .
Let see how maps are readable in this next one (if maps are there) -
@Mff73 With wifi and the name, I think maps are there. The readability should be decent thanks to amoled.
On the data we could extract from the documents posted:
nfc seems out but I don’t know it is used in race and the battery capacity is way lower than race (expected due to size), so let’s wait for info on battery life.A Vertical S could be a great addition for MIP lovers
-
@raceaddict Maybe the battery is smaller, because there is no AMOLED? That would also be an interesting device: About as small as a S9PP but with the display of the Vertical (maybe 1,3") and the battery life of the AMOLED Race. I love these speculations…
-
@wmichi The only real difference between Vertical and Race is the display technology. I don’t see them naming this watch Race S and don’t put an amoled display
