    Hello Sunnto Community,

I got a Suunto Race end of last year and I’ve been tracking my HRV. After the initial 14 days to set up a normal range, it gave me a normal range of 52 - 58ms and since then I’ve joined a gym focusing on intense function fitness. It’s been great feeling like I’m getting fitter. However now my HRV is well above the normal range of when I wasn’t working out. Will the HRV normal range adjust upwards for me?

@Redbeard_ranger, since HRV reflects our routine, it is reasonable that it has changed since you have started intense function fitness. As long as you are feeling fitter and not overloaded, I think that you have only to wait the levelling of the HRV data with respect to yours new lifestyle.

@Redbeard_ranger I had the same question some weeks ago, which I put in a thread on here somewhere. We all know that the 7-day average is a rolling average, but it appears the ‘normal’ range is fixed in that first 14 days and then doesn’t change, although there is no written evidence to prove or disprove that theory anywhere I can find it!

@Swaddy61 My “normal” range is changing. Like @Redbeard_ranger mentioned, in the beginning it was 52-58ms, and according to the screenshot it is now 54 to 59ms. It just takes longer, I think it is a 28 day rolling average (not sure about the time).

It wouldn’t be bad, if the normal range would be part of the charts (area chart in the background of the bars, although a line chart would be better in this case). Then we could clearly see how it changes over time. In my opinion Garmin’s way of presenting this data is more useful.

@Swaddy61 Hmmm yeah, wouldn’t it be more accurate that the normal range should change but as @Matúš and @wmichi have stated but over a longer time period. Similar to how the Fitness (CTL) changes and progresses over a longer consistent time?
