I’m used to measuring HRV in the morning with an app and have never used the option to do it via the watch. I suffer from ectopic beats mostly during the night and this is one of the reasons why I take the measurement in the morning when I can check (feel) that there are no ectopic beats or at least few. That said, the app I use filters these beats somehow so that HRV is not affected (if you suffer from this condition and have unexpected high HRV values, you know why). What about the measurements produced by Suunto?

Do not trust any watch as a medical tool.

@sartoric sure, of course, it was more a curiosity how things are implemented

HRV are measured during sleep, and afair, at the moment it’s not meant to have a 24/7 graph or an on-demand measuring

I would love to be able to dl raw r-r data to be processed later (beats, hrv etc)

I’d also be interested to know as I too suffer from this (last time I was tested they recorded around 1500 ectopic beats over a 24 hour period). I’m lucky enough to suffer from both atrial fibrillation which is probably connected to aortic stenosis. I’m anticipating a stent will be on the cards for me over the coming decade or two

I don’t use HR for my training and I haven’t yet used HRV, but will definitely keep an eye on this thread as I may implement the HRV recording in the future 👍
