    Hello everyone!
    I posted recently a similar topic with a S9B, but I have the same kind of issue with a Vertical.
    I have a very recent case to submit and seek for help: this morning I ran the Paris marathon, and I was very disappointed by the watch. It was almost useless, except for the timer. I wanted to use the Suunto plus feature like the race pacer, but it is completely useless when the length calculated by the watch is not correct. As you can see in my screenshots, there are 2 things that are weird :

    • the total distance is 39.9 km vs 42.2 km, so 2.3 km missing!!
    • the pace variation is insane, and does not match the pace I had (you can check the 5 km pace which was measured by the organization, I was quite constant till km 25, after it was more difficult 😅).
      Every time I have an issue with distance, I observe at the same time the pace variation is going crazy.

    Do you know where it comes from ? This is my set up :
    Vertical used with Stryd foot pod in auto calibrate mode (so it should use the GPS for calculating distance, and not the pod)
    Vertical Software = 2.33.12
    Serial Number = 241010000231
    Model Number = OW222
    Hardware = 3137E2
    Assisted GPS = 2024-04-07T00:00:00
    GPS = v00.144
    Touch = C1.10.6
    Bluetooth = 3.0.32
    PPG Version = 0.4.38
    WLAN = V000044

    Thanks for your help and any lead is welcome 😊.

      I’m not sure what’s happening but just wanted to jump in and say great running, that’s an awesome time. Well done!

        @Gilles-D If the Stryd was paired as a footpod all distance and pace will come from Stryd and not the watch. Auto-calibrate does not default to the watch and Stryd recommends not to auto calibrate with Suunto watches. Only if the Stryd is paired as a powerpod will the distance and pace come from the watch.

            @Brad_Olwin thanks a lot!! I was the one who post a similar issue with S9B, and the root cause is actually the same. So nothing to do with GPS and watch quality, rather a wrong configuration / understanding with a 3rd party device like Stry from my end! I think I am gonna drop the Stryd, since the Vertical has an embedded power calculator…
            Have a nice day, topic is closed 🙂

              @Gilles-D In testing prior to releasing the Stryd a number of us tested Suunto power vs Stryd. They were very close. That was with the Wind version and I do not know if newer versions are different. Suunto power is a little less sensitive for me as I notice that the max on very hard intervals is a bit lower with Suunto but averages were very close.
