      Hi,

I’m trying to find out why there are so many Cycling activites like Cycling (Basic), Cycling (Power), Mountain biking (Trail), Mountain biking (Downhill), Mountain biking (Enduro) etc.

First I thought, that everything with ‘power’ has to do with a POD, but for Mountain biking it is ‘Trail’ instead of ‘Power’ (see screenshot)?! I’m confused.

Is there any overview about all those activities and the differences?
After two months of getting used to the Suunto Race, I think that less would be more.

@zucchero think of these as customizations of a sport. You can do that yourself from the app, taking one default sport mode, e.g. running, and customize the screen to show the information you prefer. Once you do that, you can give it a name.
As an example, I have a “Running (Training)” and a “Running (Race)” that show different fields.

For some sports, Suunto already offers some customization. So you have “Cycling (Basic)” and “Cycling (Power)” that show different data screens, in case you do not want to make your own custom sports. Cycling basic can record power if you have a power meter, but does not have a field showing it to you during the activity, while Cycling power has it.

Now, there are also some other changes that are not available to users like us, one example is “Climbing (Indoor)” that does not use GPS; while we can only customize screens in our custom sport modes, Suunto can do more, and that is why they provide some customized sport modes. Also, because some users do not know how to make custom profiles themselves 🙂
