I have used the Race for a few days now and mostly like the user interface so far. But one thing I really don’t understand and would like to see changed, thus this feedback post:

When in the watchface screen, there are three customizable button function: long presses of the top and bottom buttons and short press of the crown. For the crown you can choose a widget activation and for the buttons activation of a function from a short preset list (button lock, timer, flashlight, etc).

What I would like to see is being able to select more freely what happens from these button presses. Make all three presses configurable in the same way and have them all share the same range of configurability, starting either a widget or a watch function. I would like to have shortcuts into more than one widget, but I can only choose one. Also expand the list of supported button functions, for example airplane mode is not in there.

Once a function has been defined for a button, it doesn’t seem possible to “unconfigure” it. It can be changed to another function, but not turned back into the default state of nothing happening from that button, which should be possible.

To expand the configurability even more, consider making the short presses of the top and bottom buttons in the watchface screen also configurable. They have useful defaults now (start exercise, control panel), but more configurability is more configurability.

The above remarks were made while using software version 2.35.34, latest as of writing this.
