What sport mode is missing from our watches in your opinion?
-
As far as I’m concerned, there are already a fair number of multiple sports here. Rather, I would like to see some of the existing ones (such as swimming) improved. But if we’re already talking about something missing, my girlfriend asked me if there is a special mode for sex

@Ars-Vitae Sex should be an art, not a sport.

I miss E-Bike

@Danny-poleg Can you please keep the scope ?
-
Hey hi , can you please keep the scope of this discussion to some sport mode you might be missing ? up to there please.
-
@isazi seconded. I’d like to be able to tag routes I’ve completed, across different scales, for both lead/top/auto-belay and bouldering, along with outcomes.

@Tieutieu Nailed it

And I would very much appreciate a breath work profile or +app. With guided breathing patterns. For example box breathing (4 sek in, 4 sek hold, 4 sek out, 4 sek hold,…) or Relax (8 sek in and 8 sek out)…
Nice idea, I like it. It could as well be implemented as an S+ app with a gentle metronome for 4x4 or 8x2.

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos I would vote for rucking with weight to bin them differently from hikes, runs, walking.
Also +1 for e-biking. Don’t currently do this but I see it happening for me in the near future. Also a way to bin this from other types of biking.

Thanks for that question !
- E-Bike
- And a proper mutlisport mode (I’m thinking mainly of triathlons)
My other sports are all covered.

Adventure Racing

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos lots of sport modes already, very happy so far. If I could improve something this would be to have easily accessible help info (maybe in-watch?) about how sport modes are designed to be used. Don’t get me wrong, some sports are straightforward, but some others would benefit from it, IMHO. For instance:
- What’s the difference between “Mountain biking - Trail” and “Mountain biking - downhill”?
- How to use “Indoor climbing”? And “orienteering”?
- What’s the difference between “Canoeing” and “Kayaking”?
- And between “Mermaiding” and “Snorkeling”?
Message here is, sports modes have very valuable, thoughtful features and metrics inherent to them, so imagine that we could read a quick, contextual description in the watch itself when selecting the mode… wouldn’t that be great? Alternatively, the Suunto App could come with “embedded” insights on how to use the different sport modes available in the watch.
Ok now you can tell me RTFM!
Cheers!

it seems not to be possible to just stay on topic.
Topic is:
“what sport modes is missing”How about everyone opens their own thread if this question made them think about something else…?

Beach Volley (I know theres the “normal” Valleyball but still) ️.

+1 for Rucking and Thru Hiking/Fast Packing

@Egika Apologies… looked relevant to me in the way the OP was proposing the discussion to go. Will post something in the lines of my suggestion separately.

+1 for E-Bike
-
- Fast hiking/walking (when walk/hike fast and run in some places)
- e-bike
- e-MTB
- Core training/Multiple exercises (when you do exercises like abs/push-ups/exercises with rubbers/lunges/some strength… all in the same training) typical exercises for runners. Now I’m using using “circuit training”, but it is not really circuit training. Exercises that you do using a mat.
-
Thru-hiking and some changes in hiking and molmountaineering profile
-
extra display with compass when gpx route is loaded
-
extra display with breadcrumb when map is turned on — one quick click and you can change between map and breadcrumb (longer battery life)
-
contour lines for 500m - 1 or 2km
-
autopause for slower activities (currently only works ok with faster sports)
-
different function for bottom button (lap isn’t needed), save location, quick map or compass view, or elevation profile — something like a pinned widget in watch mode
-
for thru hiking - option only in SuuntoApp: merge daily stages (distance, ascent/descent, calories, steps etc.) and create an additional record for the whole route without affecting those daily activities that are used to calculate fitness, recovery, etc. just for sharing, to the trail summary, for exporting to apps like Relieve.
