    I found no post on this topic…

    Is there a way to have turn by turn indications when navigating an imported route?

    Thank you!

      @Luis-Andés-Olmedo No. Turn-by-turn is only available for routes created in the Suunto App or synced directly from Komoot. Imported GPX files do not offer the feature.

      FYI, the implementation of turn-by-turn is less than ideal. There are a few discussions regarding how it could be better:

        @Luis-Andés-Olmedo Yes and no… You can add the signs as a waypoint manually on the route with the corresponding symbol. You can then also switch them on and off like the automatically created ones
        A lot of effort for a longer route, but you have control over where you like them and where not.
        I did it for crucial situations on the route, like the way to the car

          Thank you both!! that is a real pity… I can think of many examples when you need to import a route and can’t creat it in Komoot or Suunto app…

            @Luis-Andés-Olmedo you could import the GPX into Kamoot, then edit and rename. Should then sync with turn by turn directions. Turn by Turn isn’t the greatest with Suunto, I turn them off anyway and just follow the line!

              Yes tank you, I know. That works when the route is a trail route but this week, I wanted to upload Munich Marathon track and Komoot tries to align the route and the info of directions and streets. Result: komoot modifies the route as some streets are not usually allowed for runners…

                @VoiGAS Ooh, I didn’t know you could do that. Is it in the Suunto App route planning screen? I don’t generally use turn-by-turn as I have a general idea of the route but it would be nice to add important or tricky to spot turns as guidance.

                  @far-blue
                  In the past, i didn’t check recently, SA didn’t allow to choose “turns” icons as waypoints.
                  So, except if it has changed, you can well add waypoints where you want to have a warning, but not with turn icons (reserved to turnbyturn).

                    @Mff73 @far-blue Yes, I did it two weeks ago, so it should work

                    Edit: Just verified it, it still works. But don’t forget to activate the turn-by-turn switch for the route, else it is invisible

                      Agree, it is working with tbt enabled. Great, Thanks.
