    Hi peeps,

Especially those from countries not usually blessed by the sun, like the UK: Do you think the solar feature is worth paying extra for?

    Thanks for your thoughts.

@Agustin-Gonzalez-Perez-Corral I think that depends on how long your activities are, and how much you dislike charging the watch: I think that the Race and the Vertical have such good batteries, and charge so quickly, that the actual need for a solar panel is limited, but it is, however, outrageously cool, which is why I have the Solar variant. You’ll see solar charging, though, it doesn’t take an awful lot of light to happen.

Edit: for context, I spend half the year in the UK, and the other half in California. I get a lot more lux in California, but the UK lux, pitiful by comparison, is still enough to easily get to the max charging ring.

        pitiful

        “Modest”. Perhaps “understated”.

@Fenr1r no no. I stand by pitiful: after being in the UK for three months, even in summer, the midday sun in California is intensely bright. You can spot me outside SFO, trying to put on all my pairs of sunglasses, and hold my Vertical up to the sun at the same time, as I wait for the Uber.

@Agustin-Gonzalez-Perez-Corral I live in The Netherlands and have a Vertical Solar. To be honest, I only benefit from it during windsurfing activities. That’s where the watch catches a lot of sun. And during holidays ofcourse.

Is it worth the extra money? That’s up to you.
I don’t think you’ll gain a lot of extra juice in the UK, but even without solar, the watch can last up to 6 weeks.

@Ze-Stuart Thanks! Summer and the UK don’t blend well together… oh, I do miss the California sun.
